Purchasing Art though shouldn't be just the domain of the rich. I see alot of art that sells out priced at less than ยฃ50, yet you rarely see them crop up on the bay.

I understand they want to sell their prints at higher prices, but certain artists want them to keep the prices down, but after the Morons debacle of a release, perhaps they will be increasing the price of the next release even more!! to limit the Ebay factor!!

Too cheap and the baggers clean them out and make all the money, Too expensive they don't sell.
Small edition size and they sell out too quickly, large edition size and people moan about it (not me though, I'd rather a print out of 500 than no print at all)
The price range on these was ยฃ150 to ยฃ350 I think it should have been in the ยฃ75 to ยฃ175 range personally maybe ยฃ225 tops for the more complicated 5 colour print.
It wasn't long ago (Dec 06) that POW did the Pete Fowler Bonro print edition of only 40 on chrome paper in 5 colours for ยฃ175 and in fact they still have loads of the standard 5 colour print on white paper ed 250 for ยฃ75.

Whether the prices are too high FOR the size of the editions, is debateable. But for me, I don't feel that these street artisists have reached a hiatus worthy of these prices. There are so many great artists out there producing prints nowhere near this price or edition size:
Souled Out. Opus. State of Play. And Tiny Media Empire which are producing stunning 'illustrator' style prints compareable to Eric & Blue. (http://www.tinymediaempire.com).
To me, this just demonstrates the god-like quality of POW. Which really is a shame. Don't get me wrong, the prints on offer today at POW, Ithink, are beautiful, and the quality of print is probably no doubt equally as good. I just think its a shame that the producer of prints holds as much, if not more, than the artists themselves.

Unless we get some insider info, I guess we'll never know the artist/printmaker split, we do know for sure that it's Banksy's generosity that gives us his prints at the prices we get.

just wanted to say that Erica and BLU are both not so much into business or money, so i dont think that they have had many things to say about the prices. i've been doing prints with Erica and he was the first one to say that the prices must stay really low. with this i dont want to say that POW did wrong. i'm sure they had their good reason to do things this way. and even if they dont sell out in one day those are still beautiful prints in my opinion!

Compared to the prices of the latest releases from POW, then yeah, good value. The book really shouts quality, is pretty big (half the size of a POW print) 20 images, ltd to 100.
