Contemporary Street Urban or Pop Art, by Daniel Silk on May 26, 2016 16:21:35 GMT 1, This is Google Search Trends. Interesting to see how Contemporary Art has fallen the most over the years while Pop Art has gone down but looks to be stable now. Street Art has a steady climb and Urban Art has kept a pretty level line.
Funny how certain terms and words go in and out of fashion, while I'm many cases I think much of the Art talked about here could be put into any of those boxes?

Contemporary Street Urban or Pop Art, by Deleted on May 26, 2016 19:43:50 GMT 1, Contemporary is not easy to spell and also encompasses all modern art including urban and pop so can see why it's not used that much.
How do more refined search terms such as landscape, portrait, comic, fine, etc fare?

Contemporary Street Urban or Pop Art, by Hairbland on May 26, 2016 20:01:16 GMT 1, Labels mostly. Quite a few Contemporary artists here with a bit of street or urban for seasoning or searches or other. Early, Harrington, Marshall, Baker...Peterson has a BFA and a MFA. Mind you I like all of these artists.
Some real talent has made this a very hot scene with galleries affixing "street" or "urban" in the same manner real estate agents come up with names for hip gentrifying neighborhoods.

Contemporary Street Urban or Pop Art, by Hairbland on May 26, 2016 20:10:24 GMT 1, Interesting how the term Street Art has sort of taken over Graffiti Art in the last 10 years or more.
And how galleries have "reserved" areas on the street for their new talent to gain said "street" exposure prior to the gallery show, unlike the history of graffiti culture.

Things have changed a lot and not always for the better. Artists and Galleries are trying to be everything to everyone.
