America and guns.........again !!!, by Cornish Crayon on Jun 12, 2016 15:52:09 GMT 1, When is america going to wake up to the freedom of using and carrying guns.......
This will only get worse, it saddens me to think that its acceptable in america for the general public to walk around with loaded weapons, allowing any old person the right to purchase and use the weapons as they so please...........
my heart goes out to all those affected

America and guns.........again !!!, by .dappy on Jun 12, 2016 15:59:00 GMT 1, ... but if all of the people had carried guns they could of ALL have shot the attacker, before he shot them ...
... the restrictions that are in place now are the causal factor in these shootings!
... that's the logic!

America and guns.........again !!!, by Ottomatik on Jun 12, 2016 16:26:19 GMT 1, Ok. We Americans are aware of the problem.
News flash! Not all of us are pro-guns!
The issue is the NRA. They give much money to the idiot politicians that keep the NRA under the radar.
However, if we are lucky enough to have Hillary as our next president, the change will come. She's against it!!!!
And to the Americans that want to shout about their 2nd Amendment rights, well. Our Constitution was written when humans actually needed to have guns to kill for food. Those days are long gone. (It's called a grocery store!)

It is mind boggling that concealed weapons are allowed in an establishment that serves alcohol.
Scene 1: 'Are you talking to my man/lady? You know I'm packing, right?'

Hopefully we can decrease our presence abroad in 2017 (that is how I am voting). It's someone else's turn to protect the strait of hormuz. Europe should be able to handle its own security from terrorism without America's intervention. Good luck with Iran. Any chance you could reduce your fast food presence abroad as well?

Yes us US citizens are aware of the issue. My concern is the reason behind your posting of this.
Are us Americans supposed to praise you UK residents? Honestly, what the fuuck is your need to post this? I really want to know. Are you pulling the 'our country is better than yours' angle? Because this type of comment/post is not helping anyone. Maybe you should stick to the art. As a former guardian who chose to step down. I'm seriously disappointed in your actions.

What a horrific message from that politician. An attitude from the dark ages. An appalling act of hatred was committed today against the gay community and my heart goes out to all those hurt or killed, and their families.

America and guns.........again !!!, by Wearology on Jun 13, 2016 0:23:07 GMT 1, Did anyone mention that this guy worked for a BRITISH Owned Security Company since 2007 and was given security clearance to carry a gun & transport illegal aliens from different parts of the country. How many of his like mixed buddies did he help across our porous border. This problem goes way beyond gun rights. This has to do with a group declaring war on the US and the politically correct US media and government afraid to even call it terrorism. One reporter referred to terrorism as the t word today.

America and guns.........again !!!, by NYart on Jun 13, 2016 0:59:45 GMT 1, You can blame guns all you want, but at the end of the day if someone wants to do something horrible they will find a way to get it done one way or another. There's no reason responsible law abiding citizens should not be able to own a weapon. Should it be harder for individuals to purchase a firearm? Probably. But if you give an inch they take a mile unfortunately. Australia and New Zealand currently have the issue that the only people with guns are the criminals, and I can imagine it is not unlike that in much of Europe. Id rather be on the right end of the gun when my house is broken into not waiting 10 minutes for some one to come save me when I'm perfectly competent to defend myself.

Trump wants to regulate people (Muslims) as do his base (GOP), but you all are too cowardly to call for regulation of guns?
Cognitive dissonance, by definition.

America and guns.........again !!!, by Deleted on Jun 13, 2016 10:02:44 GMT 1, According to some news reports there has been over one thousand mass shooting in the US since 2012.
The FBI had the Florida shooter on their radar and interviewed him in the past regarding pro terrorism statements he made.
It's really up to the people who are close to potential killers and the local law enforcement I guess to take threats seriously and better to refuse to issue a gun permit than be scared of being in breach of the right to carry a gun.

Well you didn't address any of my points, just took a shot at a presidental candidate and insulted Americans in general but sure I'll bite.
Regulating Muslims clearly isn't a solution, and while I will be voting for Trump I do not support it, and in the context of Muslims as a whole very few people do GOP or not. However when it comes to those coming from war zones like Syria, Iraq or any other country with active terrorist groups I do believe it's only common sense to scrutinize them further. Considering those claiming refugee status in Europe have already carried out attacks its not hard to think it's likely to happen again. It's unfortunate the minority of the refugees are casting a suspicion over them as a whole but can you blame the government for prioritizing its citizens safety first?
To your second point, can you show me an example of someone choosing not to "call for regulation out of cowardice"? Many of us do not want it. A good guy with a gun can save as many lives as a maniac with a gun can take. The only difference being good guy won't have a gun when they're "regulated", if someone intends on going on a rampage violating a gun law is rather insignificant.

And why are they War zones exactly ? because the US Govt at the behest of their corporate allies create them in order to profit a) by selling weapons and b) by rebuilding the infrastructure they wreck.
The fact that young disillusioned mentally ill brainwashed republicans can gain access to AR 15 semi automatic weapons and take out their frustrations against minorities for not reaping the rewards that Capitalism promises, needs to be tackled at source. Trump has truly shown Republicanism's dirty underbelly and made it mainstream, it's a politics predicated on hate and fear that can only, by definition, lead to more hate and fear.
Trump wants to regulate people (Muslims) as do his base (GOP), but you all are too cowardly to call for regulation of guns? Cognitive dissonance, by definition. Well you didn't address any of my points, just took a shot at a presidental candidate and insulted Americans in general but sure I'll bite.
