Can I ask you to make an offer? The reason being I have seen this for sale up to £1500 (Hang Up Pictures) and Paddle 8 have put a value on it of $2000 to $2500 personally I don't expect anyone to pay that but I do need to sell as I have health issues and my partner has recently been seriously ill I am trying to get my family's ife back on track. I am loathed to sell and had hope to pass this down to my son but really have no option. I plan to have the pieces posted for a week and go to the best price I can get. I hope you think this is fair.

My only guidance would be based that as per Gavins web page "Gavin also sold a unique edition of 50 pieces called Emission Edition. The pieces were created by holding a canvas against an exhaust pipe and then accelerating, the soot from the exhaust leaving a unique mark on each canvas." If you look at his Tea Stain (Print) a 1000 edition priced priced at £380 (without a frame )

I guess based on your gut feel and what you see directly from Gavins shop should give you some indication of value and potential value. Art you know is a personal I thing I love Gavins work queueing took place for  for hours to get this piece from one of our great modern day artists

Hope you understand my predicament and why I'd rather the buyer put a price on this.

Newport Street Gallery to present Gavin Turk solo exhibition in November
Newport Street Gallery will host the first major solo exhibition of work by British artist Gavin Turk since 2002 (opens 23rd November 2016, until 19th March 2017).

Spanning almost three decades, ‘Who What When Where How and Why’ will showcase works from throughout the artist’s career, many exhibited together for the first time.

Turk’s work focuses on the anti-hero, the recycling of art history, waste and refuse, the signature and the painted bronze. Tracing his early interest authorship, identity and the artist, the show features ‘Cave’, the now iconic blue plaque installation that was exhibited in Turk’s Royal College of Art degree show in 1991. Works from the artist’s Signature series also feature alongside four life-sized figure sculptures, as well as painted bronze Rubbish pieces. Other highlights include Turk’s re-imagining of Warhol’s Elvis screen prints, his ‘recycled’ Magritte self-portrait, ‘Godot’ (1996), and the bronze ‘Ariadne’ (2006–2014), which is based on de Chirico’s series of paintings of the statue.

Hirst first saw Turk’s work at his Royal College degree show in 1991 and began acquiring his work in 1998.

On the occasion of the exhibition, Turk said, “It is a massive compliment to have Damien as an artist, collect my work on this scale, with such intelligence and then show it to the public in this beautiful new gallery.”

Hirst stated, “I started collecting Gavin’s work twenty years ago. He’s an incredibly powerful artist, his work is about language and the spaces between things – about identity and being somebody and nobody, he plays with our preconceptions of what’s there and not there, of what art is and how it functions. He’s had a major impact on British art so it’s great to be able to show such an extensive collection of his work at Newport Street.

Did you see the John Hoyland, 29.4.67 print? In that case, any thoughts on quality or other?
Would sit nicely on my wall but hard to really know when I can't see it live, giclee and embossed signature feels a little soso but I really like the aesthetics of it.

I saw it, great quality.

But i don't get how someone would pay money for a reproduction of a dead persons image, after they died.

I guess the Basquiat prints recently released are the best example of this absurdity. 

So many better things to buy by living artists that sign or don't sing the prints they decide to publish.

Yeh, thats my concern, I realize its not the best invested money but I really like it so im trying to decide if its worth it. I would prefer to buy an original from a living artists but its not very easy to find good stuff that doesn't cost a fortune, even prints in this caliber is damn expensive.

...but you are right, waiting would be the sane move.
