after all its all private business, you do your own business, i do mine... i have never interfered with you for ripping off ppl with a poster that sold Β£400.... (when a Β£10 21C poster sold for Β£100 everyone started complaining about it... or about that famous soup can litho.... yet you ripped someone 4x as much and everyone stays mum)... good for you... its ur business after all, but don't tell me what i have to do with my prints.
After all you keep reminding everyone about me, in a certain sense its good too... keeps me in the limelight. ;D
me am no expert more than you or anyone else on the board... I was just giving opinion based on facts and figures...
please GROW UP... r u 28 years as you speak of someone who is a 13 year old still in puberty.... it seems you need to bash me just for the sake of bashing someone.... Good Day

i know for a fact it wasnt you who reported me, i never even insinuated that it was you retard.
And how did i rip anyone off? I sold a poster, told everyone what it was, and people bid on it. You listed an item and shill bid on it. Are you a drooling idiot, seriously. Are you on drugs or something? Let me clear something up about the english language ok. If you list something, tell them exactly what it is and where it came from, whatever price you get is fair, there was no reserve and no shill bidding. It was a rare poster that sold out a year ago and its the first one on ebay for 5 months. it sold for its value. When something sells out, its value goes up you f**king tit. But well done on going through my auctions desperatly trying to find something to have a go at me for.
You admitted ADMITTED that you shill bid on a banksy print that there is every chance someone on these boards bid on. YOu admitted it and you have no shame about it and all i am saying is that ends your right to call any other auction shady, and to come on here and make a pathetic attempt to belittle me for selling something in a no reserve auction, which started at Β£4.99 and happened to go over Β£400 is just pathetic.
You are a simpleton in the true sense of the word. I await your witty attempt at a retort with baited breath

Back to the SBFO auction....
Now standing at Β£1,175 with 1 day 2 hours to go.

I only have one, its hard enough to run that. I get 120 emails on an average day, most of which are from people asking questions that are answered in the auction (that is so annoying!)
why do you ask?

Beejoir π¬π§ LV Child β’ Imodium β’ Colour of Money, by adrscib on Jul 17, 2007 15:48:50 GMT 1, i tell you why ... the area factor comes to play when you value a canvas vs a canvas...... am i was right on that.... please explain to me how come that the 3 banksys of the same size all went for 120/130k in a sothebys auction... sheer coincidence? they were exactly valued at exactly the same value of a canvas sold a previous day (of a smaller size for 78k).... either an incredible coincidence or simple arithmetic.
Usually although not a rule, different canvases of the same artist of the same size "area" sell for approximately the same value - although this is not a fixed rule... the quality... value... and meaning of the image also places a premium.

Generally the larger pieces by an artist cost more than the smaller pieces, but it doesn't work out by the square cm, also it'll depend on how much the artist likes the piece/doesn't want to part with it, how much time was put into it, how many people want to buy it, and if you're a friend of the artist.

Beejoir π¬π§ LV Child β’ Imodium β’ Colour of Money, by adrscib on Jul 17, 2007 17:20:04 GMT 1, my feeling in general on this board (after an absense of 2 months) is that basically no one dislikes me (except verbalkint)... yes apparently i am exiled from the UK if i get close to him, but i seem to be the only one person on this board that whenever i say something even if good, you try to find something negative in the post... and if you can't find anything to say against me, you simply find the opportunity to go back to the past and restate past views just for the sake of having a good laugh at me. Well done. A laugh once it ok, twice is tolerable, but then it has now becomes a nuisance...
Again, i have nothing to regret of the recent past... believe it or not... keep -ve respecting me if you want.... thanks to that famous disclosed "shill bid" i made such a good publicity that i actually found a buyer from this forum!!! so it is 1) A VERY BIG THANKS TO THIS FORUMS EXISTENCE.... 2) BEING HONEST ADMITTING GUILT CAN ALSO LEAD TO +VE OUTCOMES. 3) I AM AN HONEST PERSON IN GENERAL.

Beejoir π¬π§ LV Child β’ Imodium β’ Colour of Money, by Zippy on Jul 22, 2007 18:58:44 GMT 1, i'm getting really fecked off with these and other prints hitting the bay before the ink has even dried. I dont own any beejoir prints and really wanted this. I couldnt be arsed to sit in front of my screen all weekend hitting F5 like a sad fecker. But I wanted one. So, some 'no lifers' got one and list it before its even hits the doormat. Shame on you. You stopped a genuine collector getting something he wanted. Arseholes. Z
Ps. Beej if you post on here, have a look at the names of those flipping sods and make sure they get NOTHING in future.

Really agree with you Zippy - I was a bit sad to be honest, sitting and watching like a hawk on that fated Sunday ... I had a feeling in my water that it would be the day, but still chose to get out with my b/f to B & Q .... and now EBay is the only place where you can line the pockets of so-called "art lovers" .... I would rather hand over my cash directly to Beejoir's Bangkok Charity and not own a print at all xx

Your post is silly. let's take this on:
"I couldnt be arsed to sit in front of my screen all weekend hitting F5 like a sad fecker. But I wanted one."
so, you weren't willing to make a sacrifice to pick up a piece being sold for well below market price and then want to complain about those that did. Like the lottery, you have to be in it to win it and those that got prints were. You weren't. Who is a sad fecker, the person who tried and succeed or the one who didn't and complains?
"So, some 'no lifers' got one and list it before its even hits the doormat. Shame on you."
no, someone willing to put in the time, or with luck, got one. Either way, good for them.
"You stopped a genuine collector getting something he wanted. Arseholes."
a genuine collector not willing to sacrifice either time or money? real genuine. The person now listing the print is providing the opportunity for someone who really wants it to acquire it, without patience, without the sacrifice of time, etc. The trade-off is that the collector who wants it will have to pay market price. Who doesn't expect to sacrifice for their true passions? The reason why something is a passion is because you are willing to sacrifice for it.

Z Your post is silly. let's take this on: "I couldnt be arsed to sit in front of my screen all weekend hitting F5 like a sad fecker. But I wanted one."so, you weren't willing to make a sacrifice to pick up a piece being sold for well below market price and then want to complain about those that did. Like the lottery, you have to be in it to win it and those that got prints were. You weren't. Who is a sad fecker, the person who tried and succeed or the one who didn't and complains? "So, some 'no lifers' got one and list it before its even hits the doormat. Shame on you."no, someone willing to put in the time, or with luck, got one. Either way, good for them. "You stopped a genuine collector getting something he wanted. Arseholes."a genuine collector not willing to sacrifice either time or money? real genuine.
Bang on the money!
Well said!

No ! The person who has put in the time to buy this print and is now immediately offering it on EBay is not "providing an opportunity" but hoping to increase his/her bank balance considerably. That was their original aim - like a ticket tout who has no interest in the band. There is a great deal of this discussed in financial terms on this site (ie: Get Your Banksy's Out for The Lads .... How Much Are My trophies Worth ?) - all of this has nothing to do with art .... and now you are mocking someone who genuinely wanted some of that art, but for one reason or another failed to take a possible 4-5 days off to stare at internet-land ..... it feels a bit elitist ....

Beejoir π¬π§ LV Child β’ Imodium β’ Colour of Money, by bored with screen names on Jul 22, 2007 20:14:57 GMT 1, But let's be honest, not taking the time required to stare at "internet-land" means there would not be any chance of ever scoring the print anyhow right? I don't necessarily like those who buy art they have no interest in only to make a quick buck, but if you weren't making an active effort to purchase this print during it's on-sale period, I don't really think you have a reason to be too upset at anyone for not owning this print except yourself.
Let's say the person who has theirs on ebay never bought it, surely another "genuine collector" would have, and then NO ONE (not even those willing to spend $2-3K) would ever have a shot at it.
Oh, and I definitely don't think everyone who scored one is a "no life sad fecker", even though I admittedly am one

Beejoir π¬π§ LV Child β’ Imodium β’ Colour of Money, by tomhills1 on Jul 22, 2007 20:20:14 GMT 1, kind of torn on this one. i hate u2 with a passion, not because their music is shit but because they allow those with more money to get closer to the front. my boys, oasis, have one price for all, you get a standing ticket and you're prepared to stand in the rain then you get to the front, end of.
however, if those that stood in the rain could have gained finacially then would there be more of them? plus how could you differentiate from those that were loyal and those that saw an opportunity and chose to exploit it?
there is no right or wrong, zippy is pissed for obvious reasons, just because someone sits at a screen all day does not give them the right to exploit those who have constraints on their time. if it were not for the hawkers/baggers, busy people might still stand a chance to buy at cost.
that said, anyone who gives up there time, even if it is for selfesh gain, should in some respect be rewarded. that is the trade-off and unfortunetly it goes on in all walks. still doesn't make it right

Knebworth 95 (i think) was the first time i encountered a "golden circle" and it put me off huge gigs forever.
I read somewhere that it was only pple who have fixed Noels TV etc that got a ticket for the GC, that really ruined what should have been a historic gig, having to watch it on a delayed video screen next to a bloody burger van.
