Wanted v Price Checks - What does it say?, by Daniel Silk on Nov 5, 2016 7:27:08 GMT 1, Do the number of Wanted Posts or Price Check posts for particular artists say or mean anything?
Do a large number of price check post about an artist mean much of their art was purchased by people for the purpose of resale?
Do do a large number of wanted posts purely relate to demand? Or can you read into it more than that?

I think the answer to your second question depends on what's being asked about. Lots of questions about relatively recent releases portends flipping, or perhaps cashing in on a new show where prices are expected to increase again.
As to large numbers of wanted requests, I think part of it will be demand related, but another part will be momentum masking as demand. Like when a popular artist has a good show or releases a good new piece or body of work, and new people see it for the first time or in a new way that says they want something from them in their collection. If you were to be able to track individuals requests over time against activity in the art world, you might be able to tel whether external or internal factors are motivating the requests for value or art
