Yeah, I think they started with pre-shipping labels, it's entirely possible UPS just doesn't update the info they submit. These should be signature required - if you actually get a 1 lb box just refuse to sign for it. But I'm sure it's fine.

I doubt Murakami has had much in the day-to-day or month-to-month on this, and perhaps other than initial involvement wouldn't have been involved other than when the uproar of complaints came in.

Having made special packaging items for cd and book packaging, China is the go to place for this, and between the making and the shipping (which is by boat/container to keep overall cost down) 6 months would be the normal time frame from beginning to delivery.  Thus the time frame we've had fits - made and shipped once, defective, and then made and shipped a second time.

It is possible the Bait/Complex people were inexperienced in Chinese manufacturing and too trusting, I would suspect that over any ideas of scams.  This has likely been a far greater nightmare for them than for anyone here.

For any item like this there would be a presale as you only want to make one run of these and you need to know exactly how many.

The new one is already on Ebay from $1,500 up, and people are selling the original ones, described as "1st Edition", for $2,500-$3,500.  A gold one sold last week for over $2,200, a set for over $2,700.

I've long since forgotten about the $275 I spent, got my tracking, hope it looks as good as the pics, and look forward to receiving it.  And should the day come when my continuous curating of my collection determines it no longer will remain part of my collection it appears a very hefty profit awaits.  Not a flipper, if I was I would have bought both, my 12yr old son helped determine which color to go with as I didn't want two of them.

But it appears the rate of return on these after 11 months is greater than the stock market, which has been performing very well here in the states.

Greetings from Brooklyn, mine arrived moments ago from UPS and is great! It is in the beautiful box, which was in a cardboard box with a pic and Original Edition type, and that was in the shipping box. A lengthy wait, but worth it.

So would you keep your old ones if they were just slightly blemished or send em back for a "perfect" one with slightly different colors?

I don't believe you have the choice now.  That ship sailed months ago. 

If you kept your blemished ones, IMO you are a moron. Just got mine today and they're easily the most impressive figures/sculptures/"toys" I've ever owned.
