I have to assume that the quality control on these will be better than the first batch. I'm glad I didn't have to pay 3X cost on these (which I did for the other set)!
I was in line for nearly 2 hours at the ComplexCon booth, hoping to grab some other merchandise, but they sold out of the decks I was interested in before I even got close. I'm guessing I would have had to wait at least 3 hours before I made it inside the store, even with VIP tix.

If I weren't a murakami fan, I may prefer this year's. But the truth is last year's are 100% his style, and og dob. This year's look forced, and retail is a joke. Not to mention huge edition size. ..

To buy the figures you need to download the Frenzy app not the complexcon app. The app uses your location (and since service sucked in the building pretty much everyone had to be on wifi so I am not sure if they are using that to determine location or GPS) to make sure you are at complexcon and then when things go on sale it will show up in the app. The app is being used for a lot of different sales and not just the Murakami.
The sculptures looked amazing. I have no idea if they are editions of 1000 but that would make sense. They are also not being sold by Bait this year, but I am not sure who is making them.
The sculptures being sold today were listed as Day 1, so I would think there would be different ones for day 2, but I have no idea. No one I talked to knew either, but if you list something as day 1 why would you not have a day 2?
The cheaper DOB sold out really quickly, as did the rocking chair (as in sold out before I could download the app once I got in the building and saw thats how they were selling them). So if you are going to complexcon tomorrow make sure to download the app before hand and be ready to go, and you have to make the purchase through apple pay so make sure you have that set up as well.
The show itself was a lot of fun, I'm not into sneakers but a lot of people were complaining about the super long lines and that a lot of the stuff was sold out by the time the regular tickets got in. The skate decks from Murakami seemed to be selling super fast from the store, but I have no idea if they sold out or not. Shepard Fairey had a print for NERD available at his booth along with some shirts. JR had his Photo Booth van set up and people were taking portraits that were then printed and put up all over the convention. Supposedly they will email you a copy but I haven't seen it yet. Perrotin had a booth set up showing off some amazing works, and also had some Murakami and JR prints available.

I have no clue what they're worth and thought about bidding a few on the bay but if this winds up taking another year, I don't want that headache with a stranger. If someone's been on here a bit no judgements and full discretion. Really like this one, still (well it's only been 2 weeks but even after a year waiting it's not going anywhere) have the last years displayed so I'm not looking to sell it, just think it's fun and I want one. I'd be interested in the tamer one as well if you had that instead.

Iโm assuming more of the same figures but Iโm not there so I donโt know for sure. How does the Frenzy app work? When I go on it I see the sold out section and spotlight section. Do you just have to be on at the right time or is there a link I am missing?

Only US at the moment I think...ย It looks like this will be an open edition... so we will all be able to get one in a few days ;-)ย
Where are you getting info that this is an open edition? If more were sold today, they sold out quickly.
