Banksy Queen Victoria Print, by mred on Jul 22, 2007 11:04:02 GMT 1, Just wondering if anyone got better guess about how much you would have to pay either in gallery or on the bay for a Banksy Queen Victoria print. This is a print that splits opinions a little so wonder if you could expect to pick one up for a little less than say some of the easier going prints.
According to picture detail there were 50 signed and 450 unsigned so what is the likely difference to be between the cost of a signed one to that of an unsigned?
Be interested to hear peoples thoughts my guess would be ยฃ800 unsigned and maybe double say ยฃ1500 for signed one?
What do others think?

Banksy Queen Victoria Print, by danvnuk on Jul 22, 2007 11:09:53 GMT 1, Snap response, entirely off the top of my head -
I think you looking at probably anywhere between ยฃ1000 and ยฃ1500 for a unsigned.
(*edited to add - just checked completed listings on E-Bay - last unsigned sold went for ยฃ1079)
Signed - your got to be looking somewhere between 5k and 8k (Possibly more)
Bottom line is - A signed Banksy (any signed Banksy) price wise your looking at a minimum of five grand. - after that, depends on the scarcity and the popularity of the image.

he he.. with provenance 1200-1800k unsigned.. 8 to 10k signed.. and that'd be a conservative estimate for some galleries.

You'll not get an unsigned for below a thousand. Just beware of cheaper versions from Japan. I reckon ยฃ1100-ยฃ1300 on ebay for a uk version, but then you never know if a bidding war breaks out it could be a little higher. Great image though, it's one of my favourites.
If you can find a signed Queen Victoria for 1500 I'll give you my LV Child free Safe.

The new prices art seems to be going for suggests to me there's more than meets the eye. Why is the market so strong? The USA economy is looking shaky isn't it? I don't understand why art is having this unprecedented boom when other sectors are not. Is the market being targeted by criminals for money laundering? Does this represent the silly rises we always see before a crash? Has the canvas replaced bricks and morter in the investor psychology. What the fuck is going on?

Banksy Queen Victoria Print, by corisma on Jul 22, 2007 11:43:16 GMT 1, Queen Vic 's a rare print & a great sought after image
you'd pay 1500+ for an Unsigned in good condition with provenance .. that last one only sold for 1079 because of rumours about the Japanese seller i believe
as for Signed .. don't even ask very rare indeed

Money laundering is a definite possibility, but I just think the people with the well paid jobs are catching onto the counter culture scene more and spending their bonuses. I've no idea if galleries have marketing departments, but the city would be the first place i'd hit to get some interest of people with way too much disposable income in their pockets.

Banksy Queen Victoria Print, by mred on Jul 22, 2007 12:24:41 GMT 1, Thanks everyone - I knew a lot of you would have opinions on going rate for this print. Seems I was a little low on my guesstimate for the unsigned print and way out on the signed.
FinsburyParkRanger your comment about prices interesting, I cannot see where there are all these peoples with the sort of money people are talking about. Not sure about conspiracy theory but maybe we will see a crash or correction (as they say on business programmes) at some point.
In case that happens I buy what I like not what might make money. That said when is the property crash going to happen?
If we are looking ยฃ5K plus for signed print what about a canvas, there were a few I think!!! Thanks again

Banksy Queen Victoria Print, by finsburyparkranger on Jul 22, 2007 12:31:04 GMT 1, Canvases go for around 100k now. I saw one recently that i've never seen actually . It was really cool. Two suits standing with CCTV camera's for their heads. He's done so much good work. The possibility for future print is just endless. I would love to see the clown image as a print, I love that !

A few have come up on ebay over the last month, I think they went for around the ยฃ800-ยฃ900 (unsigned) area. The last I looked www.Lazinc.com has some unsigned ones for sale at ยฃ950 each, and thats starting to look like a pretty reasonable price for such a rare print.

ahhhh, cant remember the prices of any Signed Queen Vic's coming up on ebay, but I would guess ยฃ1,500+ I think Lazinc.com did have some signed ones about three or four months back and they wanted ยฃ1,650 if I remember right.

Banksy Queen Victoria Print, by rob123rob on May 18, 2007 21:35:31 GMT 1, I am thinking about bidding on the Queen Victoria Banksy print on ebay. It is currently at 820 GBP with 18 hours to go. Does anyone know what this print has sold for in the recent past? What is a good going rate? I know that most unsigned Banksy prints are selling in around that range, so is this a good deal? Any thoughts? (I have enough to buy an unsigned Banksy print...is this a good one to go after?)
