Banksy • Festival, Destroy Capitalism, by Poppy Sunshine on Feb 25, 2019 10:58:45 GMT 1, cool video about the printing of these Never seen this film before. Really interesting. I noticed the part towards the end where they say there were only 6 signed proof sets embossed with modern multiples logo. Conclusive proof that mine must be the only unsigned set in the world with the logo on them. Nice to know but would anyone pay more for that do you think?

cool to have a set from source, all nice prints, but highly doubt MM stamp would add value.
It’s not a Banksy tag or something to that effect, rather another example of inconsistencies in printing from those days, like prints with / without POW stamp
A case of something being rare without being more valuable imo

Just for clarity it wasn't an accidental stamping but a favour to the previous owner who personally knew the owner of MM.

If it was a later addition to the print, and one that the artist wasn't aware of, you could argue that it actually devalues the print? Not my view but just throwing it out there for discussion.

Banksy • Festival, Destroy Capitalism, by Fast Eddie on Feb 25, 2019 15:29:09 GMT 1, Forgive two probably naive questions.
Can I ask why is the LA version of these prints typically deemed worth more? If the artist were truly happier with the MM versions, why interrupting the edition and redo through POW.
This is not eighteen century tech and the numbering on each print is essentially random. Not indicative of quality. What's the point of having a set? A taste for symmetry in the numbers?

If the artist were truly happier with the MM versions, why interrupting the edition and redo through POW. This is not eighteen century tech and the numbering on each print is essentially random. Not indicative of quality. What's the point of having a set? A taste for symmetry in the numbers? To answer your first question, the quality of the Modern Multiples edition is far superior to the stuff that POW were able to produce. They look better, feel better, smell better and taste better. They're just better. The reason POW would interup is purely control. For example, if somebody had a friend at MM and wanted them to put the blind stamp on a print (see posts above) then they could get away with it. If you asked POW to do the same they would tell you to go take a running jump...
In this instance, the numbering is very much indicative of quality. The first 50 signed and the first 100 of the unsigned were printed by MM. They're better to look at, feel, sniff and nibble at the edges. Given the choice, I'd rather have a set (12/150, 12/150, 12/150, 12/150, 12/150 and 12/150) than a random numbers (12/150 sat next to 22/150, 27/150, 38/150, 42/150 and 44/150). Wouldn't you? Look at this post. Aren't you just aching to have all the 12/150's....? I am! If anyone has them please give them to me!!!

Surely it's not the destruction of the screen that makes any print more valuable, as that is not generally known infromation? Modern Multiples were assigned to do the run of the 6 LA prints, not POW in-house. "Something happened" and Modern Multiples had to destroy their screens which is well documented by Mr Brainwash.
One can see the difference putting the same print from POW to Modern Multiples together to see which is more sharper and better. But hey, ho.. . A Banksy print is a Banksy print...
