In a sense that this image is not an image that all his collectors would want. This seems to me like something only a small niched area of collectors would be interested in. Like a british collector. I do not see any appeal. This suppose to be a piece for the brexit situation?

The image is not new, it was already presented in the 'Wasted Youth' show in Malaga in 2015.

A lot of D*Face's works and other artists's works have British flags and symbols and they are not only for the british people, there are collectors all around the world.

And it is fine that not all the collectors want it, but just the ones who do like it. I believe that one should collect what he/she likes and not all of the works of an artist if he/she does not like them, just for the sake that it is his/her favourite artist.

Odd that the plan to hold the image back before selling to deter eBay sellers didn't work? The theory sounded foolproof.

The only way to stop flippers is to make the item easily accessible to everyone which means open edition or non-limited.  I can understand why an artist would not go that route but to me that's really the only way.

I can see the USA point of view, if it was an american flag design I wouldn't want it on my wall, but as it's not...Love it!

Artists seling out releases these days means nothing. Unpopular images sell out all the time and once they cannot be flipped, they are sold at cost 30 days later. Mediocre releases this year have really put a damper on any interest in future releases by these same artists. What is considered really good? Its all speculation. My point is that D face seems to just release images with no interest in the future value. If he cared, he would release better images. His past 3 releases have been duds after initial sell outs. Dont believe me? Look up the value trends of them. Either value stays the same or the prints are being sold for less then cost. Its a shame really. I am not knocking the image that people purchased because the flag is something they can relate too. I am just saying this specific release was very narrow minded. More of a cash grab in my view.

There's a strong socio-political commentary in this image and releasing it as a print gives the statement bigger wings. Weird to read so many people not understanding why he decided to release this image and make it a print, but again, not too many people seem to get the art and I see very little discussion about the art itself or the matters it raises, so why am I surprised?

Anyway, kudos to D*Face. If he missed the mark at trying to raise discussions on the divided state of his Nation, which btw couldn't be more relevant to the US as well after the latest elections, he at least got me to read a little about the history of the Union Jack flag and I learned something new and had a few reflexions through art today. I didn't know what to think of it early on, but at the end of the day, I dig this.
