Very frustrating experience with GP again. Looks like lot of people on here are right about them lying about.

Martin Whatson • Behind the Curtain Print, by Coach on Mar 2, 2017 18:16:36 GMT 1, GP are in my opinion cheats and liars .... I said it before and I will say it again (and this maybe to the detriment of artists that i really would like prints from but sell through GP) I WILL NEVER AGAIN TRY TO PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THEM. They were shown to be dishonest keeping back prints from the release without full disclosure and everything that they have done on this is try to repair their damaged reputation with members of this forum. I love the print but as soon as it was through GP - I ignored it. Good luck and enjoy the print to all that were successful! They get not one more penny of my money. Yorkie PS: I am actually in a happy mood as I will be flying to Europe tonight so this is not a complaint to them - I'm sure they care not one bit about me.... :-) PPS: My playlist for the day will be going to the music thread and perhaps it will have a little influence from them!
Have a safe journey. Anywhere nice?

Yer I agree it lacks any change. I can't understand why MW prices are so crazy.

Hells bells and buckets of shit! That is one hell of an itinerary! I hope you have a week off to recover. That said, I did thoroughly enjoy taking both mine to open days. Especially the youngest, as it was art collages. Great to see the youngster's work on display. Made me feel confident for the future of uk contemporary art. There's a lot of talent on the way up.

Martin Whatson • Behind the Curtain Print, by pking1601 on Mar 2, 2017 21:05:44 GMT 1, I'm sure that everyone who was unsuccessful today accepts the fact that there will always be winners and losers on these occasions. However, the underlying point being made is the fact that all 'participants' were informed by GP, by email, that, once in the basket, there was a 5 minute timeframe in which to complete the purchase when, in fact, this was clearly not the case. Therefore, having thought they had been successful, the realisation of then missing out only compounded the disappointment. I read the email in exactly the same way as others had about the 5 mins. Had it carted, thru to PayPal immediately then gone. I realised this was going to be a very popular drop but if GP are going to clearly lay down the conditions for purchase in their promotion email, then surely they should stick to those conditions when the print goes live.

Just a mistake. Bound to be people upset when demand exceeds supply. Not worth losing sleep over. Buy originals by emerging artists. There's no flipping and it's much more enjoyable. I reckon.

I had one in my basket within 3 seconds of them going live, pushed the paypal button only to be told they'd sold out so clearly the 5 minute thing was bollocks. Within 5 minutes they were on ebay at £1200. Galleries and artists should take the same view as many music artists and theatre shows. The minute anything is resold the original sale should be cancelled. That way the true fans of art works would have a better chance of getting an item. GP clearly talk rubbish about what they are going to do as from what I can see on this forum many folks were in the sme boat as me. If I was cynical I'd go with the thought that they were NEVER available and GP had already pre defined who was getting. Even their last lottery option potentially was just a cover for them giving to who they wanted to have. I'll never buy anything from them, the whole process stinks.

Graffiti Prints has already gone to IG and responded to everyone about this exact issue; THEY WERE TOLD BY SHOPIFY, THAT THE CARTS WOULD HOLD THE PRINTS!!! Hoping the bold helps everyone
Someone expressed that Shopify wasn't holding prints in carts anymore, so GP did their due diligence, and reached out to Shopify for an answer. What more do you want them to do??? They've also said that they pre-sell prints, so aren't hiding anything (IMO).
If they did in fact get 2200+ emails for the lottery, how many people do you think were trying for probably 100 prints today?! And If the carts had been on, I'd bet my house that people would be bitching that all the "BOTS" carted and bought all the prints! It's getting old.
In this day and age (as in it's not 2007 anymore), on a very popular drop, with limited supply, more and more people are going to miss. That's just a fact, and the nature of collecting limited prints today...

I have no issue with any galleries holding back a few - just be up front an honest - thats my beef! Yorkie The hostility would get very heated if GP let us know they only released 75 to public and held back 100 for friends/family/VIP's Honestly, how many of the variants do you think were actually sold to lottery winner and how many do you think were given to Friends/Family/VIP's? My guess would be MAYBE 5 of the 25. Not really, if he just said, ''we have 100 to release of mw new edition'' I wouldnt be pissed.

If I knew someone releasing a print played favorites to nearly 50% of the inventory I would be quite upset. I don't think the artist would 100% support that either, knowing that 50% of real fans didn't have the opportunity to fairly acquire a sought after piece of art. That's either APs and PPs are for .

My guess would be MAYBE 5 of the 25. Not really, if he just said, ''we have 100 to release of mw new edition'' I wouldnt be pissed. Hm, well I disagree. If I knew someone releasing a print played favorites to nearly 50% of the inventory I would be quite upset. I don't think the artist would 100% support that either, knowing that 50% of real fans didn't have the opportunity to fairly acquire a sought after piece of art. That's either APs and PPs are for .
