Banksy - The Walled Off Hotel ★★★, by Kevin Anderson on Feb 22, 2018 14:36:27 GMT 1, I went back to the reservation site and selected the previous day. That made my reservation for the days I intended to book. It’s a strange glitch. I notified the hotel, but it looks like nothing has changed.

Banksy - The Walled Off Hotel ★★★, by bigtlt on Feb 23, 2018 23:54:24 GMT 1, There's a few tips here www.instagram.com/stephratcatcher/Don't fly El-Al as they have their own security so we ended up being interrogated before we even checked-in !! And then after standard security had to go and do their own checks too. Basically meant emptying Our bags and swabbing and scanning every single item - thought the plane was going without us After seeing the museum I would say you definitely Won't Want to be saying You are visiting Banksy - sight seeing tour to Jerusalem....and if you have the time you might visit Bethlehem.....that's it When you enter and leave the West Bank your bags are x-Ray's and you have to go through metal detectors - I would say it's NOT a good idea to try and bring any spent tear gas cartridges or shells (which you do find lying around certain areas Don't fly El-Al is definitely the best advice posted on this thread.
I flew via Berlin and got the full security check package, bag and laptop taken away for further checks, sent to El-Al's security room for full body check, only my underwear away from a full strip search, swab & scans to all personal belongings. Flight was supposed to leave at 1.30 and I was stood with my jeans around my knees at 1.45.
On the plus side, the questions at Tel Aviv security were minimal when they noticed my flight ticket, but that was after a 2.5 hours queue to get to the desk.

Banksy - The Walled Off Hotel ★★★, by irl1 on Feb 24, 2018 0:33:44 GMT 1, Big tip if your looking to buy a box set or walled section. The shop opens around 9.15am to 9.30, that's when they bring in the new stock. Sometimes it can be a little later but before 11am. Then the shift changes at 4pm and they bring in more stock then or before 6pm, if they have it that is. Note these times as it gives you plenty of time to go out and see the sights without having to hang around the hotel all day trying to pick something up. People assume there is an endless supply of these which is not true. You can go there and find none in the shop, but they will bring in something at the times i have stated. Another tip, when you pass through border control in the airport they take your photo and print it on whats called your border entry card. The entry one is blue and again when you leave they give you a yellow one. Hold these as extra provenance for your items, with your hotel invoice and stamped receipt. There are so many fakes of this box set now that the extra provenance is worth holding on to.

Banksy - The Walled Off Hotel ★★★, by Deleted on Feb 24, 2018 8:17:32 GMT 1, Best tips i can give are as follows-
1. Dont worry too much about shop opening times, its mostly tatt and your life will be the same if you only come away with postcards (which are always available).
2. Buy one of the many books on sale, they are not tatt and may have an impact on your life.
3. After a day visiting the various historic sites or looking at the nearby big wall, sit in the hotel reception area on a Saturday night enjoying a beer and the live music whilst taking in the surroundings.
4. Whilst sat in hotel on Saturday night, see 3 above, do not utilise personal mobile device to engage with internet blokes whilst trying to sell the tatt you may have recently purchased in hotel shop, see 1 above.

Dont worry too much about shop opening times, its mostly tatt and your life will be the same if you only come away with postcards (which are always available). 2. Whilst sat in hotel on Saturday night, see 3 above, do not utilise personal mobile device to engage with internet blokes whilst trying to sell the tatt you may have recently purchased in hotel shop, see 1 above. 1. Some people like the hotel "tat". (just check the show me your wall section thread)
2. Yes your right about the books in the shop. Some great reads, but very expensive. A paperback there costs from 25 euro to the hardbacks up to 70 euro. I know these prices as i have purchased nearly all the books in the shop. You can buy the "same" paperbacks online for 2 euro and the hardbacks for up to 12 euro. The only difference is you won't have the hotel stamp and of course your not supporting the people of Palestine. (see photos of some of the best books to buy)
3. Yes the sights are super. The trip down to Jericho (do go the long way through the desert) and the dead sea is a must, but a very long drive. There is a lot to see in Bethlehem without having to travel. If your over there do buy the guide book in the shop. The music on a Saturday night is a must.
4. No not a good idea to sell your goods you just purchased while sat in the hotel. Wait until you have visited at least 5 times and when you have two of the same item you can sell one of them. You can log on to U.A.A while in the hotel having a beer and answer some questions, as its not a crime over there to do that.

Banksy - The Walled Off Hotel ★★★, by slnhrd on Feb 26, 2018 9:21:31 GMT 1, useful thread, thank you a few questions if i may...... What currency for Jerusalem and Bethlehem, do you get it here or use cash points? Travel from airport to Hotel (or bethlehem) How please Checkpoint, can you just walk through? need passport or airport visa? Food, lets talk about food Alchohol, is there any? Many Thanks - The currency is Schekel (NIS) and you can get it at common ATM machines at the Airport - Most convenient way is to book the airport transfer of the Hotel - just send a message to the Reservation desk - You definitely need your passport (as everywhere in this area) but it is very easy to pass the checkpoint - There some very tasty places around the hotel - you should definitely try some of them instead of eating pizza in the hotel all the time (that's the only thing they got) - You are allowed to drink alcohol as much as you want (like in most other countries of the world)

What currency for Jerusalem and Bethlehem, do you get it here or use cash points? Shekels, you can get them at the airport or use atms in Bethlehem Travel from airport to Hotel (or bethlehem) How please. Easiest is through the hotel (having done it twice, well worth the cost. They can pick you up anywhere, just let me know. Checkpoint, can you just walk through? need passport or airport visa? You can walk through, you will need your passport.I recommend crossing this way at least once. You will at least have a firsthand opportunity to see what these people go through on a daily basis. My experience was eyeopening, even though I basically walked right through. In a cab, you will likely be waived through and miss the corralling and feeling it brings with it. Food, lets talk about food Plenty of great food. From sushi to traditional Middle-Eastern food. Alcohol, is there any? So much booze. For hard liquor, I recommend Amigo's it is a few minute walk from the hotel and the Owners are great. If you go tell Adham (one of the owners) Matthew from NYC sent you Many Thanks
