You know yourself how safe it is so i just can't see a problem. Find a nice clean part of the wall well away from the hotel and paint something for the baby. Sign it with the date and you have a great photo to show when he/she is older.  I tried that , as it is becoming so popular , and wall space a minimum to paint , they keep greycoating and over paint stencils, I was a bit miffed paid for a stencil with dates of son and placed right on top edge at highest point 😕 revisited a few months later and sprayed over !
I get the feeling that whoever you paid for the stencil is the same person doing the grey coating. Nice little earner.

When I visited there was not the political turmoil that is ensuing at the moment which is not reported on the mainstream news,
The hotel is situated far away from gaza where the main problems are , woh 500m from Israeli checkpoint.
The one thing that happens now is certain individuals target tourists for publicity for their causes which would be on my mind in a politically unstable country
Check gov embassy for advice and updates if safety is your concern .
At 6 months will be a bit tiring if your planning to do lots of trips , they are a bit sleepless ,restless and need all hands on , once crawling a bit different bit more restfull and less stress for parents .
My personal experience when the hotel opened with my son was amazing , no trouble and a bonus got to see Danny Boyle nativity play

So I'd ask there, and be sure to specify what you mean by "reasonably priced," as everyone has a different definition. While you're at it, let people know if a hostel would work, what amenities you require (pool? elevator?), and what places you've rejected and why. Then you can get good answers.

Had 3 nights at the Walled off. First 2 in the Banksy Pillow Fighter room.
Then the last night got upgraded to the Presidential Suite as a thank you for taking care of Umbrella Girl.
It was amazing, and if you haven't been yet I highly recommend it.
I read a lot on this forum beforehand and was a bit nervous about customs and security.
Everyone has their own experience, but I will say mine was overall pretty smooth.
On the way there, in JFK airport when going through Israeli customs we did get flagged.
We were told to get to our gate early for further security inspection.
At the gate we got taken into a small security room and they took our carry-on bags into an area we could not see.
After a 10 minute inspection of our bags they sent us on our way.
Not sure what got us flagged, I do look like an old washed up degenerate w long hair and tattoos. I was dressed in shorts and sleeveless t-shirt, not thinking that I would be going through Israeli customs in the US. So surely that didn't help.
However, I had been told ahead by Green Olive Tours to dress to impress for customs. I did have my pants shirt and tie in my carry-on, and as intended I wore them off the plane in Tel Aviv. Customs was a total breeze, with just a few questions. Then we were off.
Flying home I dressed again in shirt and tie, and though there are several steps of security to go through, the Israeli security gave us no real trouble.
So dress to impress, and hopefully your travel will be as smooth as mine was!
