Brexit
Nov 10, 2018 21:27:50 GMT 1
Brexit, by moron on Nov 10, 2018 21:27:50 GMT 1, The governments proposals for Brexit always were unreasonable and would obviously not be acceptable to the EU. They would always have had to compromise; I could have told you that 2 years ago. Brexiters need to stop being so ideological stubborn and face the real world for a change. What's very bizarre is that they agree to leave the EU before actually stating what they (the Tory government coalition with the Irish) will demand of the EU. Then after next march, the two year transition period will be more negotiations with the EU.
Not one EU country exporter who exports to the UK will stop exporting to the UK after Brexit. Macron talks about blocking the ports and a go slow in Calais and at the same time is talking about his big plan for an EU army. He can't even sort Paris out, the guy is an idiot.

Brexit, by Deleted on Nov 11, 2018 12:25:18 GMT 1, Let's face it; whatever deal Teresa May comes back with from the EU, it is going to get rejected by parliament. If it's a hard Brexit / soft Brexit / delayed Brexit / sausage bacon and egg Brexit...whatever, it is not going to get through parliament because there will always be more people voting 'against' than voting 'for'. I dread a "no Brexit" but I can't honestly see any other result.

It's not a case of trusting French business but the chance is that people who work in certain places can be less than honest and seize an opportunity when it presents itself.

The next generation of chip-based British passports will be delivered under a new ten-year ยฃ400 million contract awarded today to De La Rue. The news will be a big blow to the incumbent passport printer 3M Security Printing Systems (SPSL), a division of 3M, which had already been producing biometric passports.

ยฃ400 million is a lot of money to hand over considering that the UK is leaving the EU.

Brexit, by Chris JL on Nov 29, 2018 2:57:40 GMT 1, The first reliable estimates are in (by LSE-CEP/UCL-IFS/Kingโs college): leaving the EU with the Prime Minister's deal would worsen the public finances by around 0.4% to 1.8% of national income, compared to the status quo. But the impact of no deal would be worse (the corresponding figures for a no deal Brexit would be 1% to 3.1%). To give you a sense, these are enormous numbers: e.g. the total cost of the NHS (national health service) is about 9.4% of national income. If they do deliver on this madness, shortly after they will have to come to cut pensions, nhs and welfare, and conceivably raise taxes, to make up the shortfall.
The estimated reduction in national income per capita, compared to remaining in the EU, would be around 1.9% to 5.5% under the proposed deal - very painful, yet better than the no deal scenario that will make us poorer by an estimated 3.5% to 8.7%.
Makes me think of a famous quote from the Italian movie director Nanni Moretti: โcontinuiamo cosรฌ, facciamoci del maleโ [โletโs continue like this, letโs get hurtโ]

When we didn't accept the Euro we were gonna have a recession, didn't happen. When we voted to leave there was supposed to be a recession, didn't happen. Stop bleating & get on with it. This has nothing to do with the middle class politicos or Westminister carpet baggers! This is about very ordinary people of all denominations / backgrounds who have been fucked by politicians for the last 50 or so years. Being pissed on and being told it's raining. It can only last so long.

It can only last so long. I really can't stand it when people come out with cr*p like "we won two world wars". Do you have any understanding whatsoever of history? It was the Allied Forces that won the wars, the British were simply a part of the Allied Forces. Far, far, far more Russians died on the Eastern Front fighting the Nazis than British died in both world wars. Without the Russian sacrifice, WWII could have had a very different outcome.
Please have a read of the link below and try to learn something about the subject before you start beating you chest so proudly.

And if you think that BREXIT is some sort of watershed moment for politicians f*cking poeple over, then you really are in for a wake up call. Politicians can't please all of the people all of the time. Who can...? The disenfranchised (rich or poor) will always feel like they've been f*cked over. The EU isn't to blame for that.
