For Sale:Fairey-We the People,Whatson,Mr Brainwash,OS GEMEOS,Invader & MORE, by stelio on Mar 23, 2017 5:09:04 GMT 1, Hello Forum Members!
This is my first attempt at a for sale thread here on UAA. Some of you know me at Expressobeans, ClaytonHopper over there, feel free to checkout out my feedback there or even ebay where I have the same screen name. Recently I have been trying to comment more over here to show more of my presence instead of just reading and leaving. The reason for this For Sale thread is because I just recently purchased the new Harland Miller print, my first of his and most expensive print I have purchased so far in this hobby. So naturally after spending so much on one item I'd like to offset the cost a little by selling some of my collection.
I am North America based but know that many of you are across the pond so I have no problem shipping worldwide. Some photos are stock as I was lazy but wanted to provide a picture with everything. I can provide actual photos upon request. Price listed in USD for the print only. EDIT: NOW OFFERING FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE.. Do not hesitate to message me if you have any questions, concerns or offers.
Thanks for looking!

For Sale:Fairey-We the People,Whatson,Mr Brainwash,OS GEMEOS,Invader & MORE, by rodgro on Mar 23, 2017 9:40:47 GMT 1, Welcome to your first sales thread on the Forum. Always nice to see another US based member as there aren't that many of us. I don't want to be too rough on you but I would like to offer a bit of friendly advice. The UAA is designed to be a community of like minded folks to sell, trade and discuss art. It is NOT EBay or a gallery and members do not usually appreciate flippers and/or gallery prices. I'm not sure about some of the pieces, but the set of Fairey prints have barely had the ink dry on them and you're asking $1700 for something you paid $100 and if you even have them in hand it's just barely...I say that because mine just arrived last week. Personally I don't have an issue with someone making money as you never know about people's financial situations, but these prices just seem crazy. Again, this is a "friendly advice" post so just wanted to give you the heads up that you might get beat up a little on your post. Best of luck.

Did`nt see much about those prints on here until it was too late, all the Ebeaners got to them.... I strongly suspect that that very early "pre-sale" was a fake sale to bump prices. You can buy a fairly decent HPM or even small original for $5k, so you won't get that for a print, IMO.

For Sale:Fairey-We the People,Whatson,Mr Brainwash,OS GEMEOS,Invader & MORE, by kidaussie on Mar 23, 2017 12:07:05 GMT 1, It seems odd to me that anyone would pay for the Shepard Fairey prints at great expense if they didn't believe in the message behind them. As such if anyone wants to pick up all 3 Fairey prints for only $100, and to make a donation to the Amplifier Foundation, they can be purchased here: amplifierfoundation.bigcartel.com/product/24x36-lithograph-prints-by-shepard-fairey-2-of-each

For Sale:Fairey-We the People,Whatson,Mr Brainwash,OS GEMEOS,Invader & MORE, by stelio on Mar 23, 2017 12:23:00 GMT 1, Guess I should respond... So aplogize for ruffling feathers apparently, wasnt my intnet. Besides the Whatsons, I made sure my prices were the cheapest listed anywhere. So lets go over these since my pricing is the talking point for this thread.
We the people- last set sold $3750 and I think $3000 is the cheapest listed anywhere for a singed/number set. If you tried to buy all three individually, it would cost you more than $3000. The cheapest large format on ebay is $8500. Asking $3000 less, I did not think is high or a far fetch ask on the LF.
Whatson- Last buttlerfy canvas just like this sold for $2400. Snik collab is a 1/1 and might be slightly high. Didnt know where to really price it since it was a 1/1. As for black dancer, the regular has blown up in price (many sellig for around $2000). So Yes, I agree Whatsons might be priced a little High, but if you really want one of them I do not bite at sensible offers.
Brainwash is at cost for two of them and the other is cheaper than the last sold and the one listed on the bay.
Os Gemoes was originally $7000, so asking for cost + shipping isnt high.
The rest are at original cost or way below ebay.
As for invader, the last few threads that had people post them have blown up and talking to some of those sellers about the messages they got, I thought it was best add a disclaimer... in hindsight maybe should of just listed a flat price? I know the last few have sold for £6000 range. I do not intend to sell for £1500 they were selling for last year. That's all I meant on the Invader
Once again, all apologies if I offended anyone.

Fair enough about prices... now what about the remark about the ink not even having time to dry ? Just to say that prices on Ebay are usually ridiculously high so pricing your below Ebay was a clever move Good luck with your sale
They are actually selling at "ridiculously high" pricing on the bay and I would sell mine cheaper here. And my direct response to that question would be very similar to my intro of this thread. I just spent over 8k on the new HM print and want to offset that cost. The hype for these We the People prints are strong right now so I thought Id offer them at cheapest option available anywhere to help offset my purchase. Kinda a win/win for both parties involved.

For Sale:Fairey-We the People,Whatson,Mr Brainwash,OS GEMEOS,Invader & MORE, by daveart on Mar 23, 2017 14:15:59 GMT 1, Some really nice stuff there.. welcome to the forum - Don't get put off by all the comments on price. As they are yours - price them where you want them. I always assume any price put on here is a starting point for discussion anyway..
At least you provided good details, good pictures, and a starting price.
I rate this a very solid sales thread.

For Sale:Fairey-We the People,Whatson,Mr Brainwash,OS GEMEOS,Invader & MORE, by oxfordwelshchap on Mar 23, 2017 14:21:56 GMT 1, I've said it before and I'll say it again... Nobody on here should ever have to justify the price or reason behind selling something It's a for sale thread. If you're interested in buying the piece then do so, if you're not, keep your thoughts to yourself. It's the same trolling culprits every single time. I dont think that criticising a for sale thread counts as trolling. I also dont think people discussing a for sale thread are making the OP justify anything and, so what if they are, this is not eBay! Also why should anyone keep their thoughts to themselves? Its a free world and original thought is important irrespective of a for sale thread or not.

For Sale:Fairey-We the People,Whatson,Mr Brainwash,OS GEMEOS,Invader & MORE, by rodgro on Mar 23, 2017 14:30:57 GMT 1, With all due respect man, you're missing the point of the UAA. YES, I understand your prices may be lower than any listed price on eBay and YES I understand this isn't a "pre-flip", but come on man let's be honest. 99% of the ones posted on eBay that you are referencing were/are listed for these ridiculous amounts before they ever laid eyes on them and I know it's not fun to admit but this couldn't be more of a flip (for the Fairey's) as you couldn't of had them for more than a week or two. Listen man, I'm not trying to be a dick, but you need to understand you're part of the problem that artists, musicians, Forum members, etc. keep having to discuss as you think it's ok to buy two $500 prints at an opening and then sell one the next day for $1000 so you can have a free print. I'm sure you're a good guy but your mindset of "Im not trying to screw anyone over" because you are selling something for $1700 that you received last week and paid $100 for under the premise that it's cheaper than eBay is flawed. Majestic was right, you don't need to justify your prices here, but you are going to take some heat for them as again this place is designed as a community for collecting. I don't think anyone is saying that you aren't allowed to do what you're doing...collectively members are just asking you to respectfully do it somewhere else. Ok, that's my 2 cents. Carry on.

For Sale:Fairey-We the People,Whatson,Mr Brainwash,OS GEMEOS,Invader & MORE, by stelio on Mar 23, 2017 14:38:28 GMT 1, 1-Not pre flipping these as they are in hand, even the LF. 2-Not sold on Obeygiant, so how does this apply? Thanks for your quality post. "My prints are priced well below market value because I want them to be affordable to true fans of my art. I have no problem with people collecting my prints and selling older prints to free up funds to purchase newer prints they prefer. However, some people buy the prints just to re-sell them on Ebay immediately. I call these people "flippers" and they keep a true fan of the piece from being able to purchase it at a low price. YOU are displacing people who want to keep, and not re-sell the art." You think holding onto them for 2 weeks, taking them out of a tube and taking a photo changes anything?
Really? Im literally telling you and everyone here that Im offering my set cheaper than anywhere else and you still want to try and burn me at the stake?? No one is selling these at cost or near it ever again. People made donations for these back in Decmeber of last year. Even in your eyes when the appropriate time frame has passed to sell, the prints will still be selling for this if not much much more. Look the jump in the last time Shepard inauguration prints for Obama as reference.
And once again, these were not sold on Obeygiant. I donated money to a kickstarter campaign, not Obey and got prints as a reward for my donation. If Shep had paid for the posters himself and sold them himself on Obey instead of Kickstarter, you would have a better arugment here, although if he did it that way, I wouldnt of posted them here. If that makes you feel any better...

For Sale:Fairey-We the People,Whatson,Mr Brainwash,OS GEMEOS,Invader & MORE, by rodgro on Mar 23, 2017 15:00:38 GMT 1, Did someone say they were sold at ObeyGiant??? Sales site is irrelevant to this discussion. Ohhh, so you're saying you are just a good guy who donated $700 for a good cause and as a perk you received a large format edition of 50 from Fairey right?? And that because you are taking $5000+ offers on that print everyone should give you a pass and call you a great guy because the eBay prices are more??? Again, as a reminder, you are getting these comments not only because of the price but also because the edition of 50's were just received last week and the edition of 450's shortly before that. Dude, if you didn't get the points I was making in my last post than this conversation is futile. Again, best of luck with your sale. I'm sure you will find a buyer that agrees with you and will be grateful that you are selling for less than anyone else. Take care.

For Sale:Fairey-We the People,Whatson,Mr Brainwash,OS GEMEOS,Invader & MORE, by rodgro on Mar 23, 2017 15:21:39 GMT 1, Oh, and for anyone reading this who doesn't understand how these prints were sold here are the details. Shepherd Fairey, along with two other artists and the Amplifier Foundation was running a campaign that would fund a host of different ads in newspapers, etc on Inauguration Day. To get more people interested in donating to the cause the three artists made a host of different prints that were given at different donation levels. Examples are: complete sets of open unsigned editions were given with a $50 donation. Complete signed open editions were given with a $100 donation. Signed and numbered editions of 450 were given with a donation of $100 each or $280 for the set of 3 and lastly the large format edition of 50 was given for a donation of $700 each. I wanted to post this as the gentleman who started this post made it sound like (in his last entry) he was just a good guy donating to a good cause and as anknown perk or "reward" he received these prints. I'm not suggesting he isn't a good guy but the idea that ANYONE making these donations didn't know exactly what they were getting for these money is ludicrous as it was clearly stated at each donation level and most of the donation levels only lasted for mere minutes as the prints sold out very quickly. The catalyst in selling the prints this way and calling them "rewards" was to ensure that ALL of the funds would go towards the cause. Hope this helps.
