Ohhh, so you're saying you are just a good guy who donated $700 for a good cause and as a perk you received a large format edition of 50 from Fairey right?? And that because you are taking $5000+ offers on that print everyone should give you a pass and call you a great guy because the eBay prices are more??? Again, as a reminder, you are getting these comments not only because of the price but also because the edition of 50's were just received last week and the edition of 450's shortly before that. Dude, if you didn't get the points I was making in my last post than this conversation is futile. Again, best of luck with your sale. I'm sure you will find a buyer that agrees with you and will be grateful that you are selling for less than anyone else. Take care.
This whole discussion was started because ling posted the link to obey giant ebay policy, trying imply I was breaking their rules.
Look, people like you will always complain at people selling until they finally realize otherwise or never at all. I initially ignored most of your post because I think you are completely wrong and didn't feel like this For Sale thread was the place or time to get into that discussion but lets do it anyway since its been derailed already.
Reselling of prints and art is just part of this hobby and without it there is no gorwth, period. Some people will complain that it hurts the hobby but many artsit and gallery owners already know it only helps with getting the name out there and allows for them to sell again and again later and for more if the supply/demand is there, allowing more money for the artist and employees involved. I use to be like you... pitch fork in hand at people reselling after I missed out but then I took the time to reflect and relaized I would of never known about this site or expressobeans or the majoirty of artist I collect today without people reselling to me on the aftermarket. Do I only buy prints to sell?? Absolutely not. One of my favorote quotes from this hobby has been "The only difference between a collector and a 'flipper' is time". So maybe in your eyes and some others I didnt wait long enough for it to be socially acceptable to list the We the People Prints. For that, the only solace I can offer is with my price and Ive done just that by being the cheapest set anywhere.
But I should really digress... I need to be done being pulled into convos like this one as its just going to run in circles as you clearly see it one way and I see it another.

I was just making the point that it's collectors who buy to collect and at the same time buy to flip are part of the problem that artists are trying to overcome as the idea is not to buy two and sell one for double. In simplest terms, doing this takes a print out of a potential collectors hands for the sole purpose of making money. The thing that is being lost here is that prints were designed so EVERYONE can collect and are financially feasible for someone to buy that cannot afford an original. The idea is not for high end collectors to buy multiple copies and drive up the price. Shep sells his prints for $45 for this very reason. For the record, I made a point to say in most of my posts that I'm not suggesting he shouldn't flip, just that the UAA isn't the place to do so. With that, I will bow out and apologize as it seems that you feel differently. Take care everyone and please accept my apology if I disrupted things.

Unless you get someone to police this then it's just going to play out the way it is until the thread dies. It happens everyday, just happened to the guy selling Stik-Lovers Blue.
I get it, guy got TIER 4'ed by Manifold Editions so he's going to TIER 50 on someone else. It's a supply and demand market, he'll adjust it accordingly or hold on to it until another DRAN REFLECT gets flipped.

Although in reality the problem in this case isn't the seller, it's the buyers who are willing to shell out big bucks for prints and fuel the prepetuation of this completely insane market. If someone is willing to pay that price for these prints I say congratulations to the seller and I say shame on the buyer because you are exactly what Shepard Fairey's message is about and what he stands against. Furthermore, because of your ignorance IMHO, you as a buyer don't deserve to own the print.

At the moment the ridiculous asking prices can't be used as any type of guide, and I don't believe the 8k sale.

The guy did a proper for sale thread and gets a beating in doing so, next time it wont have prices, pictures just a big blank space saying like so many other for sale threads on here: I have something for sale, please PM for name of the artist, price, picture etc.
I prefer people continue to offer things on here, even if the markup might be high, at least I get a chance making an offer, people can "flip" on so many other places where my sticky fingers cant reach´em, you might not like it but I do, not saying Im more right than you (i am of course) but at least this way everyone on here gets a second chance to buy something they missed out on.

For Sale:Fairey-We the People,Whatson,Mr Brainwash,OS GEMEOS,Invader & MORE, by Galleri MDA on Mar 24, 2017 19:40:28 GMT 1, Leave the guy in peace, Im also heartbroken I didnt get my sticky fingers on a set but come on, you dont like the price, keep walking, you dont like the fact that he is selling them already,s**t happens we didnt manage to get a set. Of course we are all free to state our opinion but enough already. The guy did a proper for sale thread and gets a beating in doing so, next time it wont have prices, pictures just a big blank space saying like so many other for sale threads on here: I have something for sale, please PM for name of the artist, price, picture etc. I prefer people continue to offer things on here, even if the markup might be high, at least I get a chance making an offer, people can "flip" on so many other places where my sticky fingers cant reach´em, you might not like it but I do, not saying Im more right than you (i am of course) but at least this way everyone on here gets a second chance to buy something they missed out on. Can't agree with you I'm afraid. Flipping has always been discouraged here. For years. It would be a great shame if that changes.
So you see no difference between a guy wanting to sell his Faireys in order to upgrade his collection and someone purely buying and selling direct afterwards just to make a profit? At least for me there is a huge difference between the two.

Not really but let the guy try and sell them for what ever he believes they are worth, by the sound of it he needs the money because he bought something else, that I can understand. What I cant understand is that grown up people coming at him from all directions for what I believe is wrong, you dont like the price, say that, to high? Tell him, to low, tell him, thats one of this forums functions, the guy makes a proper for sale thread, clearly states his intentions and you all cant give him a break, come on.

Because you personally know the guy had full intentions of framing this set by buying the smaller signed/numbered edition in addition to the large format right? He had this vision of putting the set of 3 on his wall and the 4th larger next to it to show his support for the struggle against oppression and bigotry right?
We're all guilty of buying to flip, buying for future invest, buying things because the artist is hot even if we don't love the image. But don't try to assume he's not in it for the money...because we all have been there before.
