Even on eBay we could find some 5, 6 years ago, around 1,5 or 2 k. I don't really understand the matter of this thread, Invader put his artworks since 96/97 , he is a wellknown and a " old " streeetart man now. He is not a bubble and, I am sure, he does not care. For me, the prices are normal and not so high as some here pretend. Do you think these prices being thrown about here are questionable? If they are going up in the last few months as fast as what is being said here, then surely that would be faster than any Banksy price rises. I don't have any of his work, I fuckin love it on the streets but not so much for my home. I'm just interested in why this huge peak. Is it sudden hype or a couple of big investors snapping up some pieces from the galleries? I understand why everyone seems to be selling up fast, but I don't understand the sudden urge to buy at these crazy prices.
I think it's a mixture of a recent high auction sale of pinkie, mixed with a few galleries having sold at premium (which in one case seems a bit sketchy). Which in turn has incited a panic in those who "don't want to miss out" which has caused private sales to go through the roof.
IMHO his current prices are a bit inflated, but looking at invader's history I think it was going to head that way eventually... just not so quickly..

I agree, I think he is and always has been a huge part in street art and his recognition to the 'outside world' is long overdue. I would just be cautious with buying at these prices as normally fast rises in price such as this only normally go the other way.

Nothing crazy mind you, but prints you could get at a couple hundred over cost started to hit 1k and above. So I would argue it has been a progressive climb that got insane over the past few months

I think his prints have been undervalued for a long time and this is a correction. Where he goes from here is another matter. Right now it looks like galleries are struggling to get enough work as it sells so fast.

But one edition like kubrick Alex which is signed and unsigned equals the total amount of someone like stiks total print catalogue of which only signed exist. It is just supply and demand which drives alot of this. You will probably find once people realise how much they can make, more invader work will start popping out. Bit like when people found out those natwest bank piggy banks from the 1980s were worth something  Hopefully that is the case as it means more to go around for everyone, who was not remotely interested in invader a few weeks ago but now seems to be loving the work.
