Some editions are actually small in relation to the market and escalate sharply in value although some people do get caught in the hype and pay over the odds for something that will hang around for a while. Money to be made by getting the 'hotter' items so there will always be those that have no desire to hold onto their purchases but hoping to make a fast buck and they're probably at the front of the queue already!

The biggest regret I had was selling 'Charles' by the Skids at University..... My mate and I both had a 45 that this 'nerd' needed for his Skids complete collection.... I sold for 10 pounds.... Sadly the first edition of this is now a lot more than what he paid me.... Hey, it paid for a couple of drinking session and helped fund a trip to The Apollo to see The Stanglers (proper original line up with Hugh C - not the current with someones son, a NE singer etc!)

without making my pretentiousness wanker who had all done. All seen etc .. I had one of the biggest collection of singles and badges ( rareBowie too , pics and bootlegs) , of the 78 / 85 period. I swore then to never sell them and I sold a lot too , just for drink a beer... most of us, of all, are criticizing eBay etc .. but it gave justice for all sellers as me , who have been spammed, swindle by secondhands record ( or comics ) stores, that bought then ultra rarities ( for 1 or 2 , even 5 Francs ) to sell them back 250 or 500 Francs after !

Discogs is basically like any other online marketplace - you have flippers, online stores selling at marked up MSRP, and liquidating collectors all playing in the same space. You can pick up deals if you use the wishlist function and are patient - and you can sell fairly easily as well (I've had 100's of transactions through them). It doesn't seem as used as it was a few years ago though, but that could just be my flawed perspective. |

There are signed record decks 10% of the 500 so if you buy the decks you may get one as they're all in sealed boxes. And they have to be given to you sealed. So that would be a bonus or a problem.

The turntables are a smooth high gloss finish so a soft cloth and hand sanitizer will remove sharpie pen. Come back tomorrow and let me know what you get. Have you had a Rega before, they are very easy to set up. |

The record player is one thing but please tell me you kept your records?
If you did then before you use them invest in a cleaner - it will get the dust off, kill the static and make the record sound warmer....
Amazes me that people spend loads on records and the player and don't think about cleaning them... just re-reading what I wrote and I sound a right miserable sod..... :-)
