Banksy, Walled Off Hotel, GIFT SHOP, by rockbeer on Sept 9, 2017 9:09:07 GMT 1, I wonder whether it occured to anyone involved that significant numbers of people would turn out to be greedy/deranged/impressionable enough to actually fly to Israel from all over the world at the drop of a hat in the hope of having the opportunity to buy (and in many cases no doubt resell) some oddments of tat that might or might not at some stage during their production have been breathed upon by Banksy without first verifying that such tat would actually be available.
I'm obviously extremely naïve because it wouldn't have occurred to me.
This whole game has become quite sickening. I can't help feeling a little sorry for genuine collectors - but for the flippers, I sincerely hope it costs you a fortune and you get nothing except a shed load of trouble for your troubles.

Keeping my fingers crossed for them that the items turn up at the shop before they have to go (I am sure that they are all not there for the wrong reasons). I hope they don't turn up if that is all they have travelled for.
Then to return home with probably what would be their most prized possession only for themselves to keep as part of their collection?
I'm Just saying...not everyone's in it for a quick buck, some people genuinely would like to own a Banksy and see this as maybe a last chance opportunity to do so, Think what you will but Iv'e said it before on this thread if my health was right I would have gone in a second, if anything just for the thrill of it and being able to recall the story to my young boy's.

As discussed on PMs no one can pretend the money hasn't always been here - at least since I joined 2010-ish. But the difference now is in the misinformation and profiteerers. A lot of good info went over to NBF and while there is still plenty of good info on here, if you're new, or not keeping up with usernames, it's easy to get distracted.
The assumptions on this thread are fantastic as well but as FR said, that's why they'll never be another Banksy release. If you want a Banksy best to get to know Simon and Kim as there's usually nice stuff available if you've played nice over the years.

The Guardian article, which seems to be copied from a press release is pretty clear these items are available, as is the online shop.
People don't have a right to buy these items, but at very least they should have been on sale, as they were at the Santa's Ghetto years ago. To give you a very middle class comparison, you don't travel to Padstow for hours to visit a Rick Stein restaurant, and be told when arrive that you can't have dinner as advertised but instead you should be grateful just to be there and go to and enjoy the Cornish scenery.

As there is 8 rooms they could have released an edition of 500 and that would have covered just over 2 months of bookings. There is plenty of availability for rooms and at the end of the day the hotel will only survive if they fill the bookings up.

It shouldn't matter about the edition size, they should just get the chance to buy what they were told is available. If they missed out then tough luck...it's part of the game, but they haven't been on sale when they were told they are available now. It's always the same jealousy with Banksy prints. As far as I read the staff there is very nice and seems not to be responsible for the way this is handled - but they are the ones who have to deal with the riot caused by it. That`s what I was trying to say. English is not my native language so please excuse if I didn`t get it right. This is also the reason why I do not know what your last word should mean but I assume it is something very nice. Now off to my falafel.
