Invader Prisoners Print, by met on Feb 24, 2018 16:40:06 GMT 1, I would like to take this opportunity to elaborate on CATs position with regards to the Authenticity of this print and pending refunds.. CAT is still under the impression from the Publisher that this print is legit and authorised by Invader...Tia has received emails confirming this from Invaders Camp and is beleagured as to why one response from them agrees with this and the other against....this is ongoing...So as a gesture of goodwill i am offering a full refund on the price of the print to those that no longer wish to keep the print regardless of outcome..i am trying to put buyers minds at rest knowing that if they are not happy they can seek full refund. This is not because i know something for definite ...i don't..it is purely to ease their minds if they feel uneasy keeping the print. Comments regarding this print from other members have not been helping as most comments are coming from those that have no vested interest in this print. I have been inundated with PM's and emails from Members now looking to buy this print at a reduced level...indeed most of those that have asked for a refund have also requested this...so this is CATs position.. CAT shall refund the selling price of the print £1250 to all those that purchased directly from CAT, anyone that has since sold this print on shall not be entitled to any refund at any point, nor shall any third parties. CAT shall ONLY refund the cost of the print...no shipping costs (to be reviewed) or framing costs shall be refunded, the refund is as a good will gesture as this print is deemed by CAT to be legit and CAT has in no way received undisputed evidence to the contrary....in fact quite the opposite. I shall review initial shipping costs as and if i receive full and final confirmation directly from Invader that these are indeed fake. CAT will not be offering purchasers the chance to purchase this print at a reduced level...its either a full refund or you keep...simple, sorry but the Publisher has requested the print be returned. CAT will not be selling these prints to anyone else at a reduced level. A full refund shall only be paid once the print has been returned with COA to an address to be confirmed, the print MUST arrive in the same condition as it was sent (framing tabs are acceptable)..I would suggest flat packed as if the print is damaged in the tube, or in any other way no refund shall be given. Sorry again at the request of the Publisher. I shall reiterate that the refund is not a sign that the prints are fake..it is purely for those that no longer wish to hold the print due to these ongoing concerns...concerns that i am still working on with the Publisher and Artist. I hope this is clear, and again CAT would like to offer its sincere apologies again to all those concerned and CAT shall offer a further gesture of good will with said people in any future purchases going forward..Also CAT would like to thanks the purchasers that have contacted us to date showing their support and willingness to work with us..this is very much appreciated and i shall do all i can to ensure their satisfaction...further to this i am working on something, possibly a free raffle for these 20 people to win a free (decent) print..TBC as i truly appreciate their support and it will be repaid. thanks all CAT
1. First of all, your prompt refund offer is commendable. Under the circumstances, it's what I would expect from any credible dealer.
2. This paragraph is slightly ambiguous for me:
"CAT is still under the impression from the Publisher that this print is legit and authorised by Invader...Tia has received emails confirming this from Invaders Camp and is beleagured as to why one response from them agrees with this and the other against....this is ongoing..."
My interpretation of the first limb is that Tia Grazette has received emails (plural) from Invader's camp confirming "this print" (i.e. the entire unsigned edition of 250 of Prisoners) "is legit and authorised by Invader" (i.e. State of Play / Grazette received express consent not only to produce these unsigned prints but also to sell them).
I appreciate the matter is ongoing, but is the above understanding fully correct?
If any part doesn't correspond to what you were trying to say, clarification would be helpful.
3. As previously mentioned, the most important thing to discover is where the artist stands today regarding the unsigned print edition and its commercial sale.
4. My recommendation to buyers is that they take the route referred to by Foolsgold — Wait for an official and definitive stance from Invader before choosing whether to keep the print or seek a refund from @cat.
Frankly, that's the only option available for those wishing to make a properly informed decision. There's no advantage in buyers requesting an immediate refund unless:
(i) they now consider the price paid was too high, even if the print turns out to be legitimate; or (ii) they fear the refund offer may be withdrawn before Invader clarifies his position.

Invader Prisoners Print, by Deleted on Feb 28, 2018 9:55:19 GMT 1, **UPDATE** I have been presented with clear factual evidence from both publisher and artist that these prints are authentic and as described. This thread and entire situation has arisen as a result of alledged blackmail. I, therefore, will not be getting involved and will no longer be able to offer a refund due to legal reasons. It saddens me that this situation has arisen and my reputation has been called into question. The facts have now come to light and I ask that you respect these and my integrity. I will be making no further comment on this thread or on the forum. Kind regards CAT

Invader Prisoners Print, by woodman on Feb 28, 2018 10:30:54 GMT 1, It may help put the buyers minds at ease (mine included) if you can at least post what is the "factual evidence"? Is this possible, or is the "I will be making no further comment" a bit of like it or lump it? There is no need to name names who are involved of an alleged blackmail etc.
I am only saying this because if ever I was a buyer for an Invader print in the future, I wouldn't be touching this one with a barge pole as it currently stands.

Tbh i was expecting more drama, the old CAT aka drjimmy/einstein was renowned for popcorn moments. Given alot of the forum witnessed the former guises in action its prob best to try and build reputation outside the forum.

Invader Prisoners Print, by Happy Shopper on Feb 28, 2018 10:57:43 GMT 1, I think a little proof of this new evidence would put people's minds at rest.
Not sure I 100% have confidence in the guy who only a few posts earlier stated he'd never said they were "endorsed by Invader".

Invader Prisoners Print, by jaymajik on Feb 28, 2018 11:06:05 GMT 1, Hi - putting a number of these up for a quick sale - they are from an unsigned edition of the classic invaders Prisoner print released by State of Play in 2007. It was an edition of 250 outside the original signed run (100) - these come stamped and numbered. Size 63 by 43cm. These will come with a covering letter from the publisher to act as a COA. Asking £1250 plus postage for a quick sale - pm if interested. Image to follow...... Please see the original thread above...'Official Invader release' or 'Endorsed by Invader' has never been mentioned..it clearly states that these were released and produced by state of Play... quoted for posterity

Invader Prisoners Print, by jaymajik on Feb 28, 2018 11:06:36 GMT 1, I would challenge your definition of 'Fake' in this instance? these are not FAKE prints just to be clear....the issue here is whether the Artist endorsed the release of this print...that is the matter that is of concern to purchasers, i have never claimed that Invader ever did endorse this release and i have clearly stated that this release was outside the original signed edition.. Please lets not speculate on the legalities here nor throw false accusations as to the authenticity of these prints...Lets be clear, These prints were produced by the publisher with Their COA, stamped and signed by them...this does not qualify them to be declared as fake under any definition. They were sold as described..this is the fact... quoted for posterity

Invader Prisoners Print, by cizza19 on Feb 28, 2018 12:18:46 GMT 1, I assume CAT is sharing evidence with people who have purchased from them (if so out of interest could a buyer share the info)
If not this reads "yeah these are real, honest, can't share the reason why though, oh and if anyone asks I won't reply. p.s somehow blackmail is to blame and because of a law I made up I won't offer refunds (even though this contradicts an actual law, The Trade Descriptions Act 1968)"

Invader Prisoners Print, by rbk on Feb 28, 2018 12:22:02 GMT 1, Think it’s quite obvious that these at best are basically a backdoor print.
Legit think what makes something legit is will Ivader recognise these pieces
I doubt CAT has anything or has seen anything by Invader saying he will recognise these works.
There may we’ll have been s print run with his permission however he does not recognise these extras. So they are in affect worth close to zero.
Just as there were backdoor Banksy’s likewise technically produced with his permission but not in anyway recognised.
That’s at best but that’s why CAT is not showing what ever the ambiguous truth he has seen

Invader Prisoners Print, by woodman on Feb 28, 2018 12:26:38 GMT 1, I assume CAT is sharing evidence with people who have purchased from them (if so out of interest could a buyer share the info) If not this reads "yeah these are real, honest, can't share the reason why though, oh and if anyone asks I won't reply. p.s somehow blackmail is to blame and because of a law I made up I won't offer refunds (even though this contradicts an actual law, The Trade Descriptions Act 1968)" No he isn't, hence why I asked on here for the evidence.
I would quite happily have the evidence sent to me via email and I will guarantee that it will not be put on here.
Transparency is everything in a matter like this.

Invader Prisoners Print, by saint on Feb 28, 2018 12:59:25 GMT 1, **UPDATE** I have been presented with clear factual evidence from both publisher and artist that these prints are authentic and as described. Kind regards CAT So you want people to respect facts that you haven't actually given them?
And to respect your integrity when you have flip flopped on the subject of authenticity?
And you wont make any further comment on the forum? So you're gonna stop posting due to this? Wow that sounds trustworthy... what next an out of business sign and a name change to Not Contemporary Art Trader?

Invader Prisoners Print, by tab1 on Feb 28, 2018 13:39:12 GMT 1, Should of taken the refund when offered ,wishy washy response from invaders camp , guess they are legit ? backdoor glicee prints worth £150 max Best bet is group action civil dispute trade description if want a refund ? Obviously someone did some research to get this ball rolling . With the Iansane prices prints reaching now probably will see more printers dropping unauthorised stock on the market with any artist. Old saying too good to be true always a snag

Obviously someone did some research to get this ball rolling . With the Iansane prices prints reaching now probably will see more printers dropping unauthorised stock on the market with any artist. Old saying too good to be true always a snag Therein lies a huge issue. CAT has stated on here the following:
Feb 24th at 905am - "So as a gesture of goodwill i am offering a full refund on the price of the print to those that no longer wish to keep the print regardless of outcome".
Then an hour later foolsgold asked "Personally, I would like to wait it out for a definitive answer from the man himself as I think the print is the real deal, but I cant wait forever....is there a time limit to put a claim in"?
Cat reply at 1025am - "In answer to this .. let’s give this 1 week from now ? For claims to be received or proof to be received"
Yet just some 4 days later CAT then says - "I, therefore, will not be getting involved and will no longer be able to offer a refund"
One thing we can see from this episode is that CAT is definitely not a man of his word, yet mentions we have to respect his integrity...
Until there is proof shown that these are authorised and legitimate by CAT himself, then these prints to anyone looking in are NOT legitimate and all I can see is buyers have been ripped off to the tune of 25 grand.

Old saying too good to be true always a snag you wouldn't need a group claim you can take anything up to £10,000 to the small claims court by UK law - what Woodman quoted alone would suffice as evidence of a refund being due let alone everything else (i.e Trade Descriptions)

Meant easier and cheaper to do as a group

Invader Prisoners Print, by Schrödinger's Chat on Feb 28, 2018 14:55:20 GMT 1, In a separate post where CAT published Tia's email, she also said a refund would be possible. Has her offer also been rescinded?
'Anyway, if anyone bought one from CAT and would like any clarification of the authenticity they can DM me Tia on Instagram @legoodsociety with their details & number and I will call them back and talk to them about this situation. And if they still wish to have a refund, everyone involved will happily refund anyone.'

Invader Prisoners Print, by tab1 on Feb 28, 2018 14:59:31 GMT 1, Just by association this is going to crash cats business model ,all previous transactions are good and a lot of praise previously but this is going to have people keep popping in future slating forsale threads if not sorted ? Buyers buying blindly to blame? Probably more to be released elsewhere too
