Banksy, Basquiat and the Barbican, by Rouen Cathedral on Sept 22, 2017 16:31:40 GMT 1, Lol. I can just see it now. Banksy releasing image of added work on instagram saying it was collaboration and authorized and everyone would start saying how genius it is! Don't try to act like I'm wrong. No need to act We know who it's by and the rest of his work is identical rip offs of Keith Haring's style.
Sure couldn't the same had been said about early banksy and blek?
What if it was banksys idea for him to add it? Genius right!

Banksy, Basquiat and the Barbican, by Schrรถdinger's Chat on Sept 22, 2017 16:34:49 GMT 1, I think it would have been fun if Skeleton Cardboard had thrown something up next to it. They knowingly bite Basquiat's style and often reference it in their pieces. Could have carried on the Basquiat homage.

I don't get it. You criticize one artist for ripping off another and call him crap but ignore that banksy had a similar start.
Now it's the time to muck it up and throw insults at me and ignore the facts! 3 2 1....

Banksy, Basquiat and the Barbican, by Rouen Cathedral on Sept 22, 2017 18:45:20 GMT 1, I hope they left some breathing room. I always hear the concerns of putting your print and it toucheing the glass.
There going to go replace the plexi in a couple years and it will be ruined!

Banksy, Basquiat and the Barbican, by loveart10000 on Sept 22, 2017 19:30:08 GMT 1, I suggest everyone who wants to stop this piece falling in to the hands of 3rd parties - should be calling City of London Planning and finding out who authorised the covering up of this work and for what purpose? It's a waste of local authorities money to place security guards 24/7 to protect it, while also allowing pretty deep holes to be drilled in to a listed building without consent. I'd rather see it buffed then get removed to be sold.
People live there. It's a residential estate. And they like art. They can do what they like with it. No ones surprised it's being preserved

Banksy, Basquiat and the Barbican, by damo on Oct 21, 2017 17:38:14 GMT 1, Finally found the time to get to the actual show this afternoon. Well worth the trip, highly recommended. I feel like it's had mixed reviews (was very busy today mind) but I learnt a lot from the background info, and some of the pieces.. just incredible. Oddly though I did leave feeling a tiny bit flat, not from the works but from a wonder of just what he could have become, and created. 27, jeeze a man should just be getting started.

Thanks for your input,Danny. Danny Minnick's work is terrible. God fucking awful rip off. I saw that tag next to the Banksy and was infuriated - and not because he imposed on Banksy, but because he just rides fucking coattails over and over again and somehow manages to get press or publicity. Guy is garbage.

Banksy, Basquiat and the Barbican, by Gurn on Nov 20, 2017 14:02:14 GMT 1, Went down to the show at the weekend. Well worth a visit if you haven't been. I did manage to get a few pics before I was busted.
The interesting parts for me where the SAMO tag photos.. One of them had clearly been overwritten with the word TOY, suggesting the local writers weren't overly impressed at the time!
As for the Banksys, I was pleased to see that they haven't been dogged. The perspex for good or bad seems to be giving some longevity, interesting to see a metal shield at the top of the Ferris wheel to stop paint being poured behind the perspex. I did notice that someone has had the sign and part of the hand of the larger piece, away.
