Bitcoin, by moron on Dec 19, 2017 9:52:09 GMT 1, I think regarding Bitcoin trading and all this e money virtual currency malarky. It's probably a good thing to get to learn about and try out by just buying no more than a hundred dollars worth of bitcoin etc and getting a hands on experience of what it's all about and how this trading stuff works.
Regarding these online seed generators (password generators) I wouldn't trust them as far as I can throw them.
Anyway I just created a new virtual currency. There is only one in existance and there will only be one mined and thats the one I have just created virtually. The value of my virtually created unique virtual coin is $21 million.
Who'se first to bite?

Bitcoin, by sparky999 on Dec 21, 2017 9:35:57 GMT 1, I just don't want idiots to hv their wives leave them cos they lost it all lol. Diversification is kind of 101 in investing but sure go all in one one asset or class. Well I do agree with what you said with crypto. People “investing” (more like speculating) just because they think it’s a cash cow and “there’s a thing such as a free lunch”. While I do agree that diversification is basic, it’s also a theory that was also tested with a lot of assumptions and parameters (for example, that the market information is fully efficient, no transaction cost...). Markowitz’s model concept and theory is so widely used that it became the aboslute norm. However, I bet over 90% of people investing (professional or personal) never read his paper. On the other end, it’s a theory that rely on the definition you give on risk. In Markowitz sense (and the general one), risk is defined by portofolio variance. Anyhow, there are other ways to look at it, if you actually spent time defining markets, doing in depth analysis with intrinsec value, your risk doesn’t reside in how many asset classes you have in your portfolio but on what you have selected as investment (not talking speculation here. Investment is at least 3 years). You risk is to chosse wrong. At the end of the day, whether you’re right or not, people tend to forget that a lot of successess balls down to 2 factors : timing and luck. Anyhow, crpyto is an interesting subject with a lot of possible applications but at this point it’s just gamble. When people start buying things just because they heard something or someone told them to, it’s not a good thing usually. Good book on the subject of luck and randomness if anyone is interested is Nassim Taleb Fooled by randomness.
Excellent book - great author super nice guy if you ever get to meet him also.

In 2 days over 200 billion has been taken out of the market cap. We went from 600 bil. To 400bil. This is the works of average people or even super rich ppl these are institutions money money around collecting profits and it’ll continue to happen

There are over 800 different tokens/coins so choosing the right one is key (investment wise) as 99% of these will fail,in my opinion. ... the bankers are now running the show ... see above ... the money men will trade anything where they see they can make a profit ... that is what they will do ... ... other than a few independent companies saying that will accept bitcoin or the like as a trade in goods or services to gain publicity, the price per unit is solely based on trading ... and who is doing that? (rhetorical question) ... tulips ... ... just bringing this back up ... wot I wrote in September ...
... my view is that there is/will be correction, but those in near the start will still make their money ... GL

What do you expect? Market regulation may suck, bit it is there for a reason. Bitcoin is awash with market manipulation - fake trades, wash trades, pumping, dumping, inter party trades etc etc. If you own enough of it you can set the price by trading with yourself. Then sell.
It's great to have a currency free of regulation, but don't assume all that regulation is a bad thing.
This is not a medium or exchange, and it is not a store of value. Therefore it is just a tool of exploitation and speculation. Know that, understand that and you can make money out of it. If you are intensely lucky.

Bitcoin, by moron on Dec 22, 2017 21:43:43 GMT 1, Bitcoin will hit 6K in a month. So don't worry about investing more.
Bitcoin was a great alternative to financial control and all that but looks like greed took over and made Bitcoin not worth using for normal transactions. Maybe thats why so much money was pumped in to raise the price of Bitcoin. Turned it into a commodity instead of an alternative way of exchanging services and goods for money.
