Bitcoin, by moron on Feb 23, 2018 22:20:44 GMT 1, This would be my worst nightmare. Every monolithic corporation able to pester and market to me based on my buying history. Perfect. Every criminal and criminal organization in the world able to see anything I have of value. Perfect. Even if you could put identity protection /evasion in place, you are one security vulnerability away from having all that wiped out. Perfect. From what I gather, data is not shared with anybody unless it’s done on your terms. Even then the data given out is not held for longer than necessary. With GDPR regulation in May, and in time, there will be a huge change in the way our data is kept. Criminals won’t see everything you have, they won’t even know you are you. You’ll be completely off grid if you want to be. Surely that’s a better predicament than what we currently have? Doesn't that come down to who controls the grid?
If everything is in a blockchain. People information must be stored somewhere to know which person owns which asset that is being sold and which virtual currency wallet or whatver t is buys the asset.
It's all traceable by big brother.
With governments bringing in laws to identify people who own bitcoins

Bitcoin, by chevyav53 on Apr 5, 2018 14:52:14 GMT 1, Damn if I had a dollar for every time someone said now's the time to buy I'd be a rich man. FOMO ship has left the station. Remember when folks were saying it was a great time to buy at $15K because it was just at $19K.....
Though always a risk before one could sense that with all the hype there was a high probability of a price increase, similar to a hot stock. There is too much fear and hesitation and no reason it should increase as it did before.
Careful for those telling you it is a great time to buy as now people just need you to buy to get their money back.

A while back I got some BCN (Bytecoin / Shitecoin), not lots and lots but the price dropped significantly, I obviously bought in over hype. So I've stayed out of it, and from what I've been seeing recently with drops in value, I'm quite pleased. I expect I'll buy in Bitcoin, the real deal, at some stage, hopefully if it goes below $1k, but I expect that won't happen.

PS: Bitcoin is very risky and needs a customer warning! I have a friend who ended his time refreshing his smartphone, not sleeping and losing thousands!

I know one chap sold a Banksy in BTC on here, and someone had an online “gallery” accepting BTC
Was wondering if any knows of major galleries selling blue chip artists (Banksy, Koons, Lichtenstein etc...) accepting bitcoin ?

Take MindGeek who took on verge coin as a payment.
People sitting on crypto accounts who dont want to cash out and pay tax could direct the money to galleries with Verge and take home an asset tax free.

Bitcoin, by moron on Apr 28, 2018 19:33:20 GMT 1, I have been looking at the performance graphs of Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoincash, Litecoin, XRP on this site www.coindesk.com/price/ No matter which day or week I compare the graphs of the different ecoins, the graphs all look similar and all the coins are performing the same way.
Can someone explain this phenomenon.

The Levine gallery started accepting Dash a few years ago no idea if they still do. It’s pretty easy to accept btc now using a payment processor so if it’s a significant purchase merchants will generally do a little legwork to take your money how you want to pay in my experience.

Correlation between similar assets is common. Do the same thing with a handful of big bank stocks and you will see the same correlation. I don’t want to get super technical but discrepancies in these correlations can be used to find statistical arbitrage opportunities.

No it’s definitely tax evasion HMRC issued pretty clear guidance sometime ago. Crypto is subject to capital gains tax - if you hv a capital gain buying art instead of pounds makes no difference to the tax.
