Bitcoin, by Sliding on the Walls on Oct 6, 2017 13:22:44 GMT 1, "It's an investment forum" - I hope that bit was a joke! Sadly, I dont think it was. The majority of newcomers on here seem to have more interest in pricing/making $$$ than actual appreciation of art. Would be nice if managment created a BLOCK THREAD button but he has no interest. Don't you mean Blockchain Thread?
First of all, by your argument you are implying that the whole 106 page 'Banksy, print, original, price check' thread in the Banksy sub-section of this forum should be blocked.
Secondly, as already stated several times. This thread is in the 'Tech' sub section. There are sub sections for Politics, Music, Tech, Sport etc... Not every thread has to be about art.
Lastly, and perhaps most importantly I created this thread because I wanted to see engagement and discussion about the positives and negatives of Cryptos, and the implementation of Blockchain technology in our world. If the discussion has drifted into the financial benefits or shortcomings then so be it.
The thread title is 'Bitcoin' because this is the coin which everybody has heard about, it is to Cryptos, what Banksy is to Urban Art.
In truth, Blockchain technology can be used for giving people across the world access to their finances when they would not previously have been able to hold bank accounts. It can be used for humanitarian aid in areas where banks or ATMs are not functioning properly, it can help small businesses, can be used to give transparency to transactions to help prevent fraud etc.. I find it incredibly exciting and welcome all forms of discussion on the matter.

Bitcoin, by yobaby on Oct 6, 2017 13:32:32 GMT 1, Interesting series on BBC2 at the moment called "Billion dollar Deals and how they changed your world" Touches on the very things mentioned above by Slidingonthewalls. Not necessarily about crypto currency as such but talks about "M-Pesa" transforming Kenyan economy/Banking sector. Very very interesting.

Bitcoin, by RoboJ on Oct 6, 2017 14:02:09 GMT 1, I'm 50/50 btc & eth. Only a small amount. I like the volatility of crypto which makes it interesting. I did have 100% eth but I want a long term hold now. Eth does seem to be the potential future but you don't appear to agree. Isn't btc a bit slow to be mainstream? Where do you get your knowledge from as you seem to know more than a general Reddit reader. If it's from Reddit then il just leave it and go with the flow. How people have the time to scroll through everyone's opinion to get proper knowledge is anyone's guess.

I find it incredibly exciting and welcome all forms of discussion on the matter. I have no problem with people discussing things other than art in here, as I have time to time done so. I, lik many others, go thru the LATEST POSTS tab. All that I see now is For Sale threads, nonsense about Banksy Box sets, people trying to flip things, price checks,.....and bitcoin(for which I am slightly interested). My first point was simply commenting on what this place has become. Hardly any art is discussed/shown anymore. Its become ebay without the fees and a bunch of people fighting. Perhaps it has to do with the owner banning many long standing members who actually cared out/contributed to actual discussion/sharing of art ad others getting fed up with it and leaving. Im not quite sure. I miss thatbplace and find myself coming here less and contributing less, because when I do, my posts get little reaction/discussion and get swallowed up by nonsense.
As for the BLOCK THREAD button, i think the member should have the abilitiy to block a thread that thry have NO interest in seeing(everybody else would still see it). When I was a guardian i suggested the block thread button be created but was kiboshed by the owner. I think it would make this place a lot more palatable as there are threads that people just dont want to see pop up on there 'timeline'.

edit: why do we have the BLOCK MEMBER button then. We could easily scroll past them as well

ETH has massive potential but seems to have stagnated of late, metropolis should push this on. Walton (WTC) is an interesting one to keep an eye on

Very true. Where do you get your information that is not so widely held? And does that de-legitamise the information, say in the blog post? Just a lot of people seem to be openly pro eth except yourself?
There is a lot of promise with the Metropolis update but you think the next Bitcoin updates are more significant?

No, I just want to get the best information possible like anyone. Most, if not all, online blogs etc are all very positive about eth future however you seem to know something different hence me asking whats the best source of reliable information. Its easy to read blogs and reddit (well not reddit) but its impossible to know the quality of the information.

Believe me or don't but I'm not going to be able to give you a link to what you want because that link doesn't exist if it did it wouldn't be valuable.
