Banksy could be Robin Gunningham or could be part of a team using the name Banksy who could comprise 3D, Damien Hirst, That guy from Blur, plus one or two other fat wallet types. having artists under their contracts in other words slavery exists in the art world and who knows if banksy is being held a prisoner in some old caravan in a remote farmers field in Lincolnshire only to be let out at night to stencil rats. So knowing that it will all come to an end one day, Robing Gunningham decides to make art under the Gonefellow pseudonym  or something not too disimilar?

 If it's a team then probably each team member has an alternative career, for example painting lego people on walls or singing in a pop band that makes music which sounds similar to TLC's waterfall as in the case of the song tears or makes music similar to the Kinks as in the case of Blurred who just happened to have Damien Shark Killer Hirst create and produce a music video for them.

Interesting that this attempt to allegedly reveal his identity only contributes to further build the myth. It would have been a very smart move from Sincura if your think about it. That and the cash flow they got from the sales -

For example, supposing some wealthy people with access to the media, galleries, celebs etc got together and said, lets invent a graffiti artist and call them Banksy we'll finance it all, pay people to go out and spray on walls, recruited from some graffiti artists. We'll decide whats painted on the walls using our ideas people and then get it in the media. Then it's nothing more than a con in one form.

If It's one guy who did it all alone and got picked up by the media, the flippers and the galleries etc and all that. That's who most want and imagine Banksy to be.
