I've never paid for anything with it. If you make a payment into someone else wallet/address I guess there's no recourse if that person then doesn't send the item etc? OP is obviously a fairly long time member so not suggesting he would do anything like this but I've seen quite a few posts offering to sell items for crypto and wondered if they're a much more risky form of payment compared to paypal etc?

Thats the same for anything though like bank transfer or cash etc.
At least the record is on the blockchain rather than your word against theirs and then having to prove it.
The transactions on blockchain are public.
The coinbase api is being used alot now in mainstream payment systems - give it a year and you will see this.
Soon you will be able to tap and pay with crypto just like a credit card everywhere (who accept it and they all will eventually)

but when you think you will spend more on fees if paying with PayPal or bank transfer then at least for me it is not a prob

The world this would create, would be the total opposite of what most claim this technology to be good for.

Yeah I'd say so, it's just a different form of payment and once you know how to do it, it's really simple and easy. There is a lot of talk across various financial institutions about adopting blockchain into their infrastructure, some infact already use it. There's also a minefield of shitcoins out there, and ICO's where unless you're buying in the Pre-Sale, when they 'drop' they can explode in value within seconds, and then suddenly they drop back down because the original investors have received 100x original investment. But if you like and follow certain projects, and believe in what they want to achieve, it's worth getting into long-term.
