Banksy Laugh Now Print, by Dr Plip on Oct 14, 2015 10:02:16 GMT 1, Less rules!!! If a gallery owner is taking the piss we can say so. Vast majority won't. Self police. Fewer rules! And less pedantism! And I agree with Coach! Self regulation. By the people, for the people.

Banksy Laugh Now Print, by Poster Bob on Oct 14, 2015 10:23:56 GMT 1, No one complained when Dr. White sold Contemporary Art Trader's "Umbrella Rat" canvas on the forum "for a friend" so I can't see the purpose in stirring up a fuss over this. A valid complaint would be that he listed the same print a month ago for offers in excess of 16k and has listed it again; surely he's just fishing for ridiculous offers and not avidly looking to sell it.

Banksy Laugh Now Print, by Metropolis Art on Oct 14, 2015 10:42:43 GMT 1, I was going to put up a list of stuff for sale today, with the view to giving the forum members first shot before I try and sell by the normal online routes. Does this mean that is no longer acceptable? Can a mod get back to me please.

Banksy Laugh Now Print, by 11 on Oct 14, 2015 11:55:51 GMT 1, Oh dear what have I started (cheesy grin)......
Metropolis - I think you have done similar 'events' before and don't see it as an issue so crack on....pm me the preview of what you're putting as I'm sure I should review for bargains er, I mean offending items first
In response to the majority of the other points - I agree with but not sure about galleries listing all of their items for sale - can you imagine the 'Recent Posts' thread but I'm pleased we're having some good debate and as coach says nothing wrong with self-policing
I don't even read my own posts cos they got to long so don't want many more rules if we can help it

Banksy Laugh Now Print, by savannahsam on Oct 14, 2015 13:38:04 GMT 1, You can't control the Banksy market! People are going to pay no matter what.... You've become disillusioned in the way you think as this forum only makes up for a small piece of the Banksy market. I'm curious what makes you the expert on all on things Banksy and how his work should be priced in the current market? Do you have a crystal ball that gathers all of your research information then spits out 6 month average prices of every Banksy print ever made? YOU are the authority when it comes to all things auction wise as well! I think you should quit your day job and just become a full time Banksy Speculator think of all the speculation you'd be in Heaven! The Dream Job! I seriously wish you never get banned LOL ;P You crack me up every time you post something. It's like you're the opinion police, you openly admit to me that you get Banksy's for "cheap" and you turn around and sell them to suckers for thousands more and that your collection is worth 2.3 Million USD dollars...yet you have a problem with me speaking my mind or giving my two cents. I love it. P.S. Anytime I've given my opinion on value or a response to "price checks"- I've always backed it up with factual data and you still get you pissed off. I'm cool with you getting all riled up for no reason. Stick around for a bit ya? LOL Dude I'm not riled up at all! YA know why? Cause I actually own the work while you don't! Just a window shopper! I'm done talking to you.... You are beneath me lol talk to me when YOU actually purchase a Banksy until them STFU

Banksy Laugh Now Print, by gatecrasher on Oct 15, 2015 9:59:49 GMT 1, To sum up the last few posts - "My dogs blacker than your dog"
Personally I think if galleries/online traders can advertise their inventory in the "For Sale" section then all it will do is pull the price of private sales up. Private sellers are going to see the Gallery prices and consider that the benchmark value.
I think some of the Gallery posters on this forum add a lot to the place it is, but there should be a separation between their personal input to discussion and their commercial sales.

Banksy Laugh Now Print, by Aza on Feb 17, 2016 11:28:40 GMT 1, Considering one sold for over £7k on eBay last week, the price isn't too bad for a gallery.
Hang Up has one for £9k.

Banksy Laugh Now Print, by dotdot on Feb 22, 2016 17:05:37 GMT 1, Thanks for your input gm
Low ball = a ball which dribbles , sometimes post deflection, into the net ; people think skill was involved , everyone else think otherwise.
Hi ball = perhaps one which aimlessly goes into the stand
No ball = a ball which is inadvertently kicked out of the ground
New ball = shiny thing often slippery..
Ln low ball = 5k
New balls please...

Banksy Laugh Now Print, by DrWhite on Feb 22, 2016 17:47:22 GMT 1, I think anyone seriously looking for a Banksy LN unsigned will know the price for private / gallery sale of the print - there have been very recent wanted threads for this print - with the last eBay sale price included. Do members just meader thru the FS threads & with no fore thought decide to buy a print with no due diligence before hand ? I would have thought with these being the price of a small family car, people would know they wanted one in advance & what sort of price to expect to pay - I must be in the minority that I don't consider badgering sellers unless i have an idea on price & I know I can afford it prior to enquiring.

Agreed doc... If I may humbly add, for a truly balanced commentary, the same principle should apply to sellers if we are being fair. My question is are we avoiding the elephant in the room? All these comments about price and not having a clue about value - are they not part of the pantomime of negotiations that goes on here? Some try to post comments to try to talk up or down prices, in order to either maximise capital gains (seller/friend/someone with a vested interest) or grab a bargain (buyer). Another pertinent question might be, why are so few members not as straight with each other when negotiating a deal? Hypothetical scenario.... Seller: Hi, I have this Mickey Mouse for sale, offers please via PM (translation: I want to maximise my gains)Serious Buyer: Hi, i'm very interested and have funds available, can you tell me what you want for said Mouse? (translation: I know what this was worth 2 months ago, when the last one sold at auction...but I don't want to over pay)Seller: I don't know that's why I asked for offers (translation: I do know, but I'm not going to tell you yet...I want to see if you are a mug, and will offer me more than what I think it's worth. In addition, it will also help get the ball rolling so I can tell the next enquirer what I have been offered and start a closed bidding war)
Tyre-kicker: Hi, I'm gonna buy this print off you tomorrow and I'll even come round and collect it from you...it will go straight on my wall and my family and kids will worship this Mickey mouse you are selling...This cost £100 on release - so even though that was ten years ago, I'll offer you £110 - so you get a profit. (Translation: I'm one of the many 40 year old bedroom dealers on UAA still living with my mum)Seller: Shall I kill myself now? (Translation: I'd better get back to the other chap and tell him what I want for the Mouse)
And so the dance begins...
Lmfao !!! Clapping symbols etc ....

it's a print it's in the uk it's beauty is in the eyeball of the beholder. it's cost is negotiable. it's going to a collector - if i can help it.
it's not time for new balls...

Spot on :-)
I think anyone seriously looking for a Banksy LN unsigned will know the price for private / gallery sale of the print - there have been very recent wanted threads for this print - with the last eBay sale price included.
