I am a huge fan of The Smiths, but I quite like this version.
I understand that not everyone will respond to a cover version the same way, thats why they're often so contentious. To each their own.
If you don't know this version, I'm going to assume you don't know Stars.
They're a fantastic band from Montreal, check em out sometime. They were heavily influenced by The Smiths and a host of other wonderful bands.

Iโm fond of Dave Brubeck.
Iโm also very fond of the Stranglers.
I heard this, and naturally was surprised to find out that the Stranglers song Golden Brown was a cover version
Well, of course it isnโt.
It seems (thanks to my eldestโs brief research) that some clever techy type person has made this video, such that it appears that Brubeck played this song.
So Iโm claiming the first posthumous cover version for this thread.
