Parra Sliding Doors Print, by njr911 on Dec 19, 2017 14:39:53 GMT 1, Looking at those trainers, the trainer game is completely ruined by flippers. Iโd estimate 80% of big trainer launches - Yeezys and those Nike x Off White are bought to flip. Itโs infuriating Yup. I used to be into trainers 10+ years ago and the art game is very similar. People were size 8 feet buying size 12 JUST to flip. Lining up 2 days early, etc. Just a mess. I got out of it some years ago though but rlook where I ended up? The sneaker manufacturers knew the popularity though and made limited runs which boosted the exclusivity and the hype. Jordan Brand who would come out re-release a retro once every 5 years or so started re-releasing them much more frequently and with larger runs. That actually slowed down a lot of hype. But the really exclusive collabos like Kanye's, Nike x Off White are flip drops. Most are buying to flip. Was a cool hobby but got ruined I was the same, I got out and flogged my trainer collection once you had to start queuing for SB Dunks.
I'm going to pick up a Parra soon, maybe they will be under costs after Xmas when the bills start to bite

Yea when I had to start lining up for basic shoes that would sit on clearance racks for months, I got out. Sold about 85% if my collection. SBs were very easy to sell.
Back on topic, if the art doesnโt sell out instantly, itโs not flip able. Would you agree?

Parra Sliding Doors Print, by hungry on Dec 19, 2017 23:01:30 GMT 1, Apparently people want their prints to be sterile as hell and not have the style and textures of the originals. I'm also going to assume these people REALLY hate hand embellishment versions too.
Personally I'm excited for this print to arrive on my doorstep. I recently framed the 'No Work Today', and as much as I liked that one, I think the darker hues of 'Sliding Doors' are really appealing.

I like the image, the composition of the two models has a balanced flow to it. This will be an under appreciated print overlooked because of it resale value.

Parra Sliding Doors Print, by mrbagel on Dec 19, 2017 23:21:23 GMT 1, Mine's arrived and I love the hand embellishments. If anything, the weird tit is growing on me (figuratively, otherwise I've swallowed too many tabs...) and the old Parras are looking a tad plain/obvious.
Going straight up on the wall. Well, after I spend 3 more nights reading about Japanese hinges...

The marks were on all the pictures so they weren't hiding it.
If you're not happy with it, I would try and use a white brand new rubber and see if it removes it. Try the back first to see how it reacts to the paper.
I'm on the fence about whether it's part of the image and shouldn't be removed or try and clean it up.

Bleach will also help, go on put a few drops on.
Honestly parra must be pissing himself, its meant to have dirty marks on as they are screened on.
Just when you think the world could not get more stupid, it does.

I think we all have a feeling that perception would be different if these were 'looking better' on the secondary market. Bunch of sexually repressed wives and girlfriends ruining the market ๐๐๐

Yes, you probably ought to do that before buying anything. If you are rushing to buy because you worry it will sell out quickly without checking what you are buying first, you are making an impulse buy for the wrong reason.

Could happen. Money is now being tied up with Christmas, so less disposable income allocated to art...

Parra Sliding Doors Print, by Amber Halo on Dec 22, 2017 20:09:13 GMT 1, My Parra just arrived, and I am a fan. The colors are great, and I think he's done a good job of trying to make a print feel a bit more like an original. That process won't be for everyone (as prior comments make clear). But to each their own.
I started art collecting buying originals and only moved into print purchases later (a somewhat backward approach to many). The oddest thing to me in the shift over was how so many print collectors treat art like stamp collecting. Everything needs to be mint, pristine. That mentality doesn't really exist when you're buying originals where what's on the canvass just becomes part of the work.
I understand why that difference exists for resale in the print world, but it seems like it becomes over-emphasized to an exaggerated degree in the print market -- where four crisp print edges, for example, take on more importance than the overall composition.
I say all of this more as an observation than a criticism. Peace and enjoy a safe and merry holidays all!
My Parra just arrived, and I am a fan. The colors are great, and I think he's done a good job of trying to make a print feel a bit more like an original. That process won't be for everyone (as prior comments make clear). But to each their own.
I started art collecting buying originals and only moved into print purchases later (a somewhat backward approach to many).
