Parra Sliding Doors Print, by brazzy on Dec 22, 2017 23:37:03 GMT 1, I like it, but I don't love it. I thought I would appreciate it more after seeing it in person. but it's just not doing it for me. If anyone stateside wants mine for $300, hmu. -failipper There ya go. yeah, because no one's allowed to change their mind upon seeing a print in person.

Parra Sliding Doors Print, by jeeves on Dec 26, 2017 11:26:09 GMT 1, What a relief. They used Kraft paper for packaging this time. No more plastic sleeves and dinged edges. Can't wait for mine. Just curious why you don't like them coming in plastic sleeves? I have a print of his that I have been storing in the plastic sleeve that it came in so just want to be sure this isn't a bad idea or something. Thanks

The plastic sleeve allowed the print to slide up and down the tube during transit.
The No Work Today drop all came in plastic sleeves and many arrived with edge damage.

Wrapping paper and stickers aren't expensive. No reason to be annoyed.

Parra Sliding Doors Print, by met on Jan 13, 2018 19:15:45 GMT 1, [...] The second email outlines the option to return the spare print if no one wants it at cost. I'm keeping one and selling one at cost. Not that difficult to understand. Purpleandred, on this place your damned if you don't and damned if you do. You offer at cost and its still not good enough for them. I try my best on here, done some giveaways, even tried to do something for charity and got stick for that. I'm sick to death of the hate. Its not a community.
Sorry to discover you left, csideguy.
You were an asset here โ someone whose avatar I'd keep an eye out for (rather than quickly scroll past, as I do with many). I often found your posts to be of substance or witty.
____________
What's unfortunate was your lack of resilience. You threw in the towel too quickly when there wasn't a need. Why not just take a break for a few weeks or months? Deleting your account seems an overly-emotional response. A more distant, philosophical approach is preferable when dealing with strangers on the internet.
Remember also that, with written text, substance and tone can usually be interpreted many ways. The meaning or emphasis that the author of a post tries to convey won't always correspond to what's picked up by every reader.
____________
Separately, could the way in which you viewed this forum have been skewed?
Your reference to "... still not good enough for them" (underlining added) might suggest you saw others here almost as a single block. The reality is that we're a large, disunited body of disparate individuals โ from many countries; covering various age groups; from every educational, socio-economic, cultural background imaginable. And if it wasn't patently obvious, with different (often conflicting) sensibilities, priorities, values and belief systems.
There are people on this board with integrity, and others who'd sell out their family. Some are honest, and some are disingenuous or seek to deceive fellow members โ including by posting under more than one account. Certain members are, on a regular basis, truly insightful. And there are far more whose posts are (a) largely restricted to sale threads and pricing, or (b) consistently inane, or (c) written in a style that wouldn't look out of place in the comments section of YouTube.
It isn't even a cross-section of society that one finds on this board; it's a cross-section of societies. That can be both alienating and appealing. Sometimes simultaneously.
And so if you were looking for "a community" (singular), that was a lost cause. There are multiple communities here (many of which I myself want no part of).
It's up to each member to search among the hundreds of active contributors, and to find the ones they're most comfortable engaging with or simply paying attention to.
____________
I hope that you'll return to the forum at some point in the future.

Parra Sliding Doors Print, by artepersfizio on Jan 25, 2018 15:38:09 GMT 1, I just can't unsee the blemish on the breasts. It's just too distracting for me. This print isn't for me, although I do love Parra. There will be many unhappy flippers on the bay, methinks.
