I hate to spoil your anticipation but I think it might be some multicoloured "graffiti" over an image he found online, and turned into a stencil.

I really never understood the hype behind his releases or work in general. I will agree that Dancer has always caught my eye, but outside of that image nothing has really impressed me. Outside of his stand alone prints, some of of the collaborations with Snik I find appealing, but have never been lucky enough by a million miles to get one at release.

Martin Whatson • Connection Print, by Happy Go Lucky Chap on Mar 29, 2018 18:30:04 GMT 1, As anticipated, I wasn't quite fast enough to beat the bots. I had a sticker set carted and all my checkout details entered about 20 minutes before the drop.
At 1500 hours, as soon as they dropped, I carted a standard edition. That was the easy part, until checkout, where there was the usual Inventory Issues message, with both the sticker set and the print showing as Sold Out. I physically could not have been any quicker.
All things considered, I would rather drink my own pi$$ than pay a 'bot keeper' to secure one for me.

Pretty much this. I saw that there was a drop and didn’t even bother going on there. F5ing like a fool when I never had a chance against bots.
Gallery and artist not making much of an attempt to curb this crap so I just stopped trying.

Hi, The pre sale is offered to long standing customers of GP. I got an email from GP saying that this presale was offered to those who had previously been successful in buying Whatson prints from their "Vault Sales", so yes, the presales for this drop more than likely went to those with bots. I have tried and failed for every GP Whatson drop. That said, over the years I have bought many other (less popular) prints from them, and have never been offered a GP presale.

Think I made a assumption based on my experience with them. I to like you have bought many prints and ogs. Some popular some not. The only time I secured a whatson was because there were issues from a previous purchase. Ive always had great service from them and I think they are doing all they can to combat the bots. I didn't even try today for the whatson I went for the Nuno shirt mask, but I was amazed at how quickly it went. Probably bots involved with that too.

Martin Whatson • Connection Print, by nighthawk on Mar 30, 2018 1:56:46 GMT 1, They’ve done lotteries on prints before, mainly the more rare and smaller run stuff. Why would you do one on a main edition of 195 prints (give or take a few)?! All you’re going to get then, is everyone getting their “besties” to enter for them. I’ve seen some lotteries in the past, where people literally have had over 80 entries!! With the online social media world these days, it wouldn’t be unimaginable to see someone reach out to everyone they know, and get them to enter for them - friends, family, strangers...The lottery won’t help you, it will only make it harder.
This was a large edition, straightforward drop. Listen, if you’ve been around for a while, and done your fair share of drops, you know that you won’t get them all. This really isn’t the one to be complaining about.

Sure the edition sizes would be larger, the profit margins would be greater, the punters would be happy, the 'bot keepers' would stay away...WIN! WIN! WIN!

Martin Whatson • Connection Print, by sneakersnart on Mar 30, 2018 4:09:11 GMT 1, Happy Go Lucky Chap You really want a lottery? So I can flood them with thousands of entries? orrrrr what? I sympathize with the sentiment of bots being an issue but it's not necessarily the easiest thing to remedy. There will always be an "issue" with automation, but look at Nike and Adidas - the two largest sneaker companies in the world, dozens of employees dedicated to their website and they still stand absolutely no chance.
GP only initially loaded: 105 mains, ~54% of edition 17 HF, ~33% of edition
Overall I think GP did a good job today, they added a human element for even people that used bots. Miles better than Obey ever does.
