What im curious on is how many of the people complaining actually wanted one and follow through but this is a smart way to further combat the flipping.

As some have mentioned could be a front account but not that easy to fake a name or from address in the USA. Also if shipping from eBay it ties to PayPal address, correct. To keep fans of the art involved with the piece and keeps building the hype.
They could do time releases at any time if they really wanted the flipping stopped. But what business wants to actually stop having their prices driven up?

There's an easy solution, but flippers help all involved really. Gives the artist more hype along with the gallery which will help them raise prices on future releases. Prices have slowly krept up from smaller, lesser known artists to the big ones. It's all about the $ which is fine. GP isn't a charity, but this frenzy could be easily stopped but cash is king. |

Flipping occurs when the demand greatly outweighs the supply. An easy solution would be creating bigger editions or raising the price. The problem is what is the true value of the art being sold here? Flippers sell the idea of the art seconds after buying. So people buy from someone who doesn't even have the item. That is insane to me. The price is high at first due to the frenzy, then it slowly goes back down. So flipping creates an unstable market. There are pieces that are selling for half the flipper/release price right now.
Short term seems great for all involved, but not so sure about longterm. I wouldn't call the market healthy though. It is artificially inflated IMO. There are other markets where this is occurring as well.

Taking the flippers and bots out will not make the change bigger it will still be sold out in a few seconds/minutes and there will be still people dissapointed.

Just frame it and enjoy it. And enjoy the fact that you were one of the lucky few to score something so rare. |

I have an acrylic kunstrasen and it looks terrific. I think acrylic looks great for everything.

Which colour did you get? The white / light grey acrylic would have been my preferred choice.
Are you UK based? I may be willing to trade the Hand Finished edition plus cash if your suffering from buyers remorse or just prefer a 'print' that will not require a custom frame to mount it!
