After explaining the image I knew it was Love Rat and cheekily offered ยฃ200 for it, which she quickly accepted. It's a shame I have morals so instead I explained quite how developed his market has become and i'm going to help her get pest control and then sell it for her. Condition is clearly shocking, this has never been looked after! What sort of price do you think this could achieve and is it worth trying to fix the issues? Could Bignel even do anything with this? ![]() ![]()

My advise is to send Graham Bignell an e-mail accompanied with as many pictures as you can to get an initial idea of whether restoration is a possibility and ballpark costs etc. I think for a much better idea i'd send it to him for a fuller assessment.

I agree, while I understand the $$ side of it, there is something about it that makes me think that a Banksy piece is supposed to be rough / beat up and not crisp and clean. If you can't restore then you should still frame.

Deep folds like that can not be totally reversed and looks like there is some cracking and tearing as well. With ยฃ200 into the piece it's definitely worth having improved by a reputable restoration house but will never be what I would consider an investment worthy piece. That considered it could still be a nice to display and appreciate. You didn't mention if it had COA or not...probably should look into that as well. just to clarify I did not buy this from her for ยฃ200. Would never try and profit off a friend. Obviously pest control is the first step, which i did mention above. Want to determine if its worth getting the issues seen before sale as any costs will be incurred by her and can't imagine much can be done to improve this. cracking, tearing and pinholes..I think this copy has it all. Got to be worth quite a bit as is, its natural, chuck a bit of coffee on it, and i'll take it off you :-)
edited to add, - look at you using your oily hands to hold the print, no white gloves, living life at the edge :-)

It can never be restored to perfection so I would not even start the process. I imagine with PC its worth more than people might imagine. I would love it as it is and almost tempted to make an offer.

My advice: drymount it. It will cost you 20$ and will probably fix the creases as well as restoration would. Its considered a death sentence in terms of value, but I think you'd still get the same amount you would have with the addition costs of restoration factored in. Good luck!

I'd get a proper bashed up fancy gold frame and always hang it wonky ..... in the toilet.
I'd love to see the faces of Pest Control when that go's in for authenticity ....... priceless

This is a good idea.
Also stick a little white card on the wall next to it with the back story printed on. Like in a museum.
