No idea where to post this - asking for advice, by Season of Mist on May 13, 2018 14:34:54 GMT 1, Hi
as a forum members I collect art.. But I am at a loss here
A family member of one of my best friend passed away. his widow asked me to help her. They had a massive (400 pieces) african art collection. Dogon, spears, statues, masks... We are taking pictures right now of everything and we have referenced 101 masks only.. We estimate the collection to be north of 500 pieces..
Of course, the deceased planned to catalogue everything.. but passed away without ever taking care of it. He had been collected / trading african art for half of a century
We are looking for advice of where to sale / appraise / evaluate / sell this collection?
PM appreciated
Thanks all!

Go on their website to the specialist departments and you will get a contact name, or just send them in some pictures. A lot of these are just made for the tourist market and are not worth a lot, but you never know what might be in the collection.
