Magnum Square Print Sale Password?, by Deleted on Apr 12, 2020 12:42:12 GMT 1, Really? The works are signed on a sticker. Sending a bunch of stickers from the location of the photographer to either NY or London shouldnt be a big issue. As they dispatch from London, they charge VAT as per international law. Not sure whats wrong with that. No idea why they charge 12 dollar but I guess its what they calculated for handling and shipping. Anyway, I am off. So you think they are sending a huge wad of stickers from USA to London and then some poor mug has to work out what sticker goes on what postcard? I can't see that being the case at all. Yes, of course VAT should be charged but if you are selling from the UK you don't state they cost 100 dollars/pounds/euros and then get to the payment page and find they have then added 20% to your bill.

I did also, I lived near that location when it happened, we all walked to the waterfront, and no people weren’t hanging out oblivious but were hanging out in stunned silence and nervous talk or laughter.

For last October that was Paris.
So their shouldn't be any import duties for EU orders.
V.A.T. is a different story.
I tend to agree that Magnum sends the labels to the Artists for them to sign.
I noticed that Eliot Erwitt no longer signs his work.
He use to sign his Magnum Square prints in the past sales.
Shipping could probably be a bit cheaper if Magnum uses a regular postal service.
But they use a courier service such as DHL Express for EU.
This usually is more expensive.

June 2019 was the last print he signed. He's 91 years old so can't fault him really. Also, some of my magnum 7x7 prints are signed directly on the white border of the image. When did they start using stickers? |

Good they got the issue sorted. Good choice too and is much kinder to your dad than taking him along to a Dylan gig  hopefully will arrive before your dads bday as they send from Paris rather than the US so good news is no import tax but also suspect they get the stickers signed in advance for affixing rather than shipping all the photos to the photographers to get them signed.

Are you serious? They must have sold quite a lot of prints to raise this amount of money. And these prints are printed now. And packaged and shipped internationally and locally. There's quite some logistics involved. That's what they did. I ordered for the first time at the Magnum square print sale and I'm not dissapointed with their timing at all. Everyone knew beforehand that the photos had to be printed after the sale according to the numbers ordered.

I wouldn’t panic - I remember in the last batch waiting for a Todd Hido that everyone else had received. They clearly don’t send out the whole batch of a particular picture at the same time.
