Damien Hirst H4 • Veils, by blerd on Aug 25, 2018 10:43:45 GMT 1, it is interesting that Hirst is using a metal background instead of archival paper or something like that... Big question: what is the better looking print in this edition? - the small spots. medium spots or large spots? Nas - Ether:
Who's the best: Pac, Nas and B.I.G.? Ain't no best East, West, North, South, flossed out, greedy I embrace y'all with napalm...

Damien Hirst H4 • Veils, by Forbidden Love on Aug 25, 2018 23:22:51 GMT 1, I agree, I prefer golf sale to Nola. But then, I am not that fond of girl with red balloon either. Why that commands silly prices, compared to happy choppers, for example, is beyond me. But I do think that these Hirst prints are an attractive purchase, if you like Hirst’s work, and you can afford them. Those that don’t like Hirst’s work (not referring to you blerd, but in general) may think these to be overpriced ugly tat. I happen to be in the former camp. I think the H4 pieces in particular are quite beautiful. It would be a pleasure if those that like them might buy without criticism, and that those who don’t are left not to without suggestion that they are missing out.
I should state I do actually like golf sale...should have maybe said toxic Mary..

There was a big scandal when a White Cube DH pricelist was leaked to the ArtNewspaper around the same time. Basicially uncovered a lot of unsold pieces. The journalist that broke the story was always anti Hirst. What was hypocritical was that they still put in the effort to participate in the Hirst x Gagosian Gallery hopping competition.

It's Heni, not the Tate edit shop, that's holding up the whole process, and I would not be suprised if they all bogged off on holiday for the long weekend.

Damien Hirst H4 • Veils, by shinkaiser on Aug 28, 2018 23:46:49 GMT 1, While everyone is waiting on H5 confirmations, I just thought i'd post some pics of the H4 set I finally got to see this afternoon at The Serpentine.
The artworks are very poorly placed next to the ladies toilets and behind doors! What were they thinking!? For once I can say these would look better on the walls at home rather than in the gallery. I tried my best not to look like a weirdo taking pictures outside the ladies toilets.
I had a feeling the diasec frame would be made of heavy glasslike material but it actually feels quite lights and plasticky. Feels a lot cheaper than I thought but I guess a lot lighter and less prone to breaking if one falls off the wall. The images look amazing and seeing them in the flesh make me very pleased with my purchase. I find the H4 series much more visually rewarding over the H5 with visibly clear paint daubs, but that's just my opinion. That being said, I actually now prefer Andromeda over the one I actually got the chance to buy.....funnily enough, this was the one I liked the least from the pdf - oh well!
