Damien Hirst H4 • Veils, by Happy Shopper on Oct 14, 2018 12:29:34 GMT 1, If it's like the Richter editions, then the box/crate has the edition name and even your edition number screened onto it... so they're a bit like the COA and not something you throw away. It’s not like a coa, even prints you buy sometimes have the edition numbers on the outside. This is for stock purposes. The crate is just to ship the thing, nothing more nothing less.
Of course it's not a COA but these are more than just a box to ship in. You don't screen print the the edition details on it if it's just for stock purposes, you use a pen.
Throw yours away if you don't want it though.

By the looks of shinkaiser’s post it doesn’t look to be screen printed. It looks more like permanent marker.

?? Edition name, publisher and edition size are printed. Your number is written. Still a lot of effort to go to just to have it thrown away.
Not that any of this nonsense fucking matters. It's was just a throw away answer to why anyone would want the option to protect the box in shipping. Obviously because Heni value the box as part of the piece... But I'm sure someone will have another opinion on that too!

You seem to be saying it as if it’s monetary value. It’s shipping packaging. But not presentation packaging.
Even if it’s screened doesn’t mean anything, they might go to extra lengths to make it look Premium for their brand considering their client base.

Damien Hirst H4 • Veils, by shinkaiser on Oct 14, 2018 14:14:31 GMT 1, The crate is actually quite big....almost double the size of the artwork. Unless what you're referring two is actually inside the wooden box that's beneath the wrapping....? It's way larger than I anticipated and too large to store conveniently. I'll send pics when I have them buy may not unwrap for a while. I’m sorry but this is incorrect the box isn’t double the size of the artwork 130cm x103 cms otherwise I wouldn’t have got it in the back of my car Sorry, that's my mistake that I should have corrected. When I saw these on display at the Serpentine, they really didn't look that large on the gallery wall. In my home, this piece is huge! The crate is a few centimetres larger than the piece itself but I totally miscalculated the scale of this artwork. Hence my mistake when seeing the crate.
Almost bit off more than I can chew with this one. Thankfully I have a spot for this piece but am rapidly running out of wallspace.

I’m not sure if the crate would effect the value, but I would keep it nonetheless for transportation purposes and if it was to be sold one day it would just make it much easier to transport. I wouldn’t consider it part of the piece of art but prob worth keeping.
I did read in the packaging this key line which makes me think it is worth keeping but I don’t think if one was sold later down the line It wouldn’t break the deal if the crate wasn’t there
So I’m probably going to eat my own words and say it as worth keeping but I don’t see it as a COA or part of the artwork

All I’ve seen is the crate. Which looks nice but.....any chance of someone posting a photo of the actual piece you all talk about😁 I fell like I’m missing out on something!

Damien Hirst H4 • Veils, by alessandro on Oct 15, 2018 15:58:43 GMT 1, I've managed to put it on the wall, it isn't that hard. I spoke to Tanya who confirmed all HENI editions don't come with a mount, so expect the same with H5s. You are meant to mount it with a couple of screws that hook into the overhang. It's pretty secure.
Here's a picture of H4-3 (Garden of Dreams), apologies for the glare, it is quite glossy -
Looking forward to seeing others'

The Tate told me HENI are handling shipping for H5. So, I would suspect Serpentine handled H4. Either way your point that this is how you should do it is still valid.
Sorry, a bit of a “know it all”. I know it can get annoying 🙂

“I doubt very much these will be delivered Monday” was the parting shot ...
Fingers crossed though
