Damien Hirst H4 • Veils, by Dive Jedi on Oct 30, 2018 13:01:20 GMT 1, I was also sent this email on Friday. Considering the amount of errors shipment I'm not surprised, multiple people have msgd me saying they also received crates they hadn't paid for. Well, if they still got prints left over when they even ship them to people that didn't order them they can't give that sh!t away…..

You are kidding, right?! Heni cannot be that bad. Pictures demanded otherwise is a hoax 😊

Damien Hirst H4 • Veils, by ARN on Oct 30, 2018 16:02:41 GMT 1, If Tate ever decides to send the h5 to America I’ll be able to answer honestly. The h4 looks better in person than any picture I have seen. Including the ones I have taken. I’m also looking to purchase more h4 prints but I agree the prices are a bit high.
Maybe this is why I’m having no luck being offered anything, asking for shipping to America

It's strange as H4 and H5 are being coordinated by different galleries. I imagine someone messed up at the 'Diasec making factory', probably didn't care for what the art looked like to notice the error.

At first I thought they were lagging in sending the h5 to the states but I called and they said it was being sent in two batches. Editions 1-50 and Editions 51-100. Editions 51-100 being sent Monday.
I think you still have a chance at an allocation as long as people Miss their payment window.

You could have a 1/1 in your hands 😂 On a serious note, for 3kish you would think these go through QA before being sent as they are not the easiest things to send to and fro.

Although, having said that, I have other diasec prints that also only have a signature on a sticker on the back. But it still seems a rather odd way of doing things to me.

Damien Hirst H4 • Veils, by Poster Bob on Nov 1, 2018 12:50:52 GMT 1, A signature is a signature. The placement of the signature doesn't affect the value to a seasoned collector. No one in their right mind would argue that a canvas is worth less because it is signed on the back or on the stretcher as opposed to the front. That said, there can be some exceptions. I am banking on the H4 series as solid investments. They are a smaller edition, stronger images, a new series and were hard to obtain. The H5 series were a lot easier to get hence all of the flipping on Ebay and there are already a million spots prints on the market.

By sticking the sticker on the back and signing it he has made that part of the artwork. I don't believe that would affect the value compared to signing the aluminum itself.
One problem of signing the aluminum is the ink, I suspect most inks would struggle to dry onto aluminum. Especially when the application method needs to allow for quick hand movements that take place when signing something. They could have done a stamp/etching, but I suspect that would have effected value.

He may use his right to disown that artwork which would detrimentally affect the value.
By placing the sticker on another work would not make that piece a Hirst since he hasn't declared it to be. No one in there sane mind would touch it. I'm not really sure how to clearly/concisely counter your point other than saying "no, because he doesn't recognise it to be".
