Parisians didnt have a clue who pejac was so even those visiting for the rest of the week probably came from the forum. I must know more than 100 people that visited that show and bought a lottery ticket. Multiple lottery tickets. Yet i dont know anyone that actually won!!! Has anyone actually got a drawing??? Ok let me ask; has anyone actually got a drawing / print / other original work, that isnt able to influence (con) others into thinking they need to buy no matter what the price. It seems to me that Max has again ensured prints and drawings have gone to the suck - as**es. Its a dangerous game when only a select few are able to buy his work yet ffor everyone else its impossible to get work from an artist that hasnt actually achieved very much Its no exageration to say he is unknown outside of this forum, the only ones propping up his market are the elite few still throwing money at him because they believe they have the monopoly on his secondary market. im not a framer, im not a plum with more money than sense. I was a genuine fan and made the effort to see the 'non - selling' show in Venice (no free sherbet dabs for guessing who bought those). i made the effort to see the Paris show and bought 5 lottery ticketsand suprisngly still have nothing. If i am happy to pay ยฃ5k i can buy a print from any one of the franchishee's. Why should i line the pockets of someone else just because they are up Max's a@@rse. But that's the game. I don't think many artists made it big on talent alone. And this thread is just stoking up the heat, playing directly into the buzz. I'm not sure there is another example of quite such a big fish in a small pond though. What auction results? If a pejac went to auction it would be by someone on here, sold to someone on here. And not to a proper house either. I suspect no proper house would bother. My rule is if Phillips don't sell it it isn't safe to invest in. Pejac is not sold there.

we should pay them to come here as our art advisers
They could do a monthly blog or get involved in the why and why not of artists
Invite them, they'll love it here, honest.

Some things look good on a wall. Some things sell well and appreciate. I'm sure we all value both, but the auction houses have a near monopoly on what qualifies as the latter.

It would've been nice to have a recorded drawing of the numbers to see whether it was randomized winners. It's a bit paranoid to assume that it's a scam when there were clear winners who posted here. |

basicly with every lottery ticket you buy you
1. Don't get an email confirmation
2. Don't get confirmation of not winning
3. You will get a notification if you do win, so why need a place to check that.
Are you upset you didn't get a Thank you for Participating email ? ?

I've met Max and he seems a fair and decent guy. I don't think he should feel the need to publish a list of numbers. Even if he did, someone would just moan that he made them up anyway.
As for looking after a certain ring of clients, this is just good business and something that other artists don't get panned for. I you have a customer who has bought something from you every month for a year and someone you don't know, I know which I would be more inclined to help out.
