If someone is shipping to you, always pay via Paypal (I have broken my own rule before but only for small values) or find a way to pay on a credit card over a free bigcartel shop or something. That way you are protected if goods are not received.
I know a lot of people have said before to pay in cash, but I would even more so discourage anyone doing that. You've all heard of the gumtree scams where they ask for cash and then rob you when you meet them. Imagine doing that with ยฃ2k in your pocket.
When I buy anything I always insist on a 10% deposit sent up front, and then do a bank transfer via banking app once the artwork has been seen in person - be it at a house or motorway services - makes the whole process much safer.
Hopefully things get sorted for you.
