ABC - I completely agree. Let's start a thread discussing the meaning, composition and finish of the Trolleys print. (Assuming this hasn't already been done - I know there is one on Wall Candy)

Yes, but I'll need to wait until it's in my hands, not much can be said by just looking at a tiny image on the computer screen. Having said that I love the concept it's pretty obvious whats going on and what it means.

When I started to reply I thought the meaning of this was pretty obvious - the comparison between the way in which our ancestors used to hunt for food compared with the way that we get our food now - pushing a shopping trolley around sainsburys.
Thinking about it I guess is it also a comment on how the developing world "feeds" the west through the exploitation of various staple crops - sugar, cocoa, coffee, tea etc.
Also if you look at the way the shopping trolleys are arranged there almost seems to be a family of trolleys - mum, dad and baby trolley. So maybe it is comment on western greed - the trolleys symbolise our indolence and desire to shovel manufactured food into our mouths and the mouths of our children.

Banksy • Trolley Hunters Coloured , by alvington89 on Nov 1, 2007 10:41:00 GMT 1, I like Pezlow's interpretation but maybe it could be a bit of a take on the particular nature of the 'Banksy art market' - ie: The tribesmen are the flippers and the trolleys in the bush are the prints that are being 'hunted' in order to make a killing. Possibly taking the mic in a less obvious way than 'Morons'?

Banksy • Trolley Hunters Coloured , by f5ers on Nov 1, 2007 10:59:39 GMT 1, Sorry to change the subject but how you gonna frame your trolley? (I got an unsigned B/W) I personally will prolly go for a double mount (super white on poster black) with a nice chunky matt black frame. Any one else thought what they will do?

I was thinking of a black frame (no surprise there from me) and a grey or black border, perhaps with a black bevel accent, or maybe a white border with black bevel accent. Nothing I haven't already done for other prints of mine.
I've got the B&W print, so it could be framed like these, I think the grey might be best, you can't really tell until it's in your hands and you're at the framers playing around with mounts.
The other way (which I'm pretty sure I'm not going to do) would be to float mount on a black background (or dark grey perhaps)

Banksy • Trolley Hunters Coloured , by absyrd on Nov 1, 2007 11:58:39 GMT 1, Gonna go arctic white mat but with more of an overlay than the usual 1/4-5/8" (to knock out some of that border) and probably a white frame. If the people were solid black I would just go black on black.

Banksy • Trolley Hunters Coloured , by pezlow on Nov 1, 2007 12:18:07 GMT 1, I've got the colour and I am thinking of using a light blue mount to match the sky in a similar way to some of the other framing jobs for J&J for example. The other option would be to double mount the print with the second mount being that light blue colour.
Spoke the misses about it last night as I buy the art and she decides whether it can go up. She likes this one so it might even go in our living room which is painted yellow and should match the yellow grass on the print quite well.

Banksy • Trolley Hunters Coloured , by absyrd on Nov 1, 2007 12:20:00 GMT 1, It is so hard to match the sky. On J&J, I just matched the yellow on the vests because you can't tell if it clashes. When the colors are right next to each other, it can get tricky. I was thinking of using the color on the shopping cart handles, but that'd just detract from the image way too much on this one.

Banksy • Trolley Hunters Coloured , by CR on Nov 4, 2007 16:26:02 GMT 1, for colour Trolley hunters I'm thinking a black frame (to go with what we have already in the front room, in the hope the wife will elt me hang it downstairs!) with a double mount.
Either 2 white mounts, or the biggest mount white and a small thin blue mount inside, to match the sky.
Someone did a similar mount with Jack and Jill, which I would love to see if anyone can find it.

I'm thinking of something similar - a mount to match the sky would look good I reckon.
