I stayed in Ile de re over the summer. Great paste ups there. His work comes up a lot. I am in the camp that believes these are criminally underpriced prints. I come at it from the photography collecting side, rather than urban art. It is great work and the whole field of photography is going through a huge shift up in appreciation and interest.

It's a stunning piece, it resonates so much with me, as I remember my younger sister entertaining us with her dances while we were being smuggled in to the UK inside a converted shipping container. Contrary to what LRoy says, not all of us have money, and some of us had to fight not for art, but for our lives. |

However, if it had struck me as an obvious montage when I saw it, I would certainly have asked on the night.
Indeed, JR is not know to digitally doctor his photos in such a blatant way (at least there are none that I can think of). When he does a superimposition, it usually is in the form of a collage work (e.g., his collaboration with Oliver Jeffers).
I would be very interested to find out the firm answer to your question. I am not sure who too ask though, as, in my experience, Social-animals are less than friendly in their correspondence...

Unfortunately not as big a format as the illusive 1st Ballerina print, but price seems about alright for size and edition given JR's tendency to price out secondary sellers...  [...] Cheers for posting. Shame this wasn't released yesterday as a photographic print. Instead of adding interest, to my eyes, the lithograph medium weakens the image. It also results in a noticeable loss of definition โ which is unfortunate, since the focal point of the ballerina is already small in scale.
