I’m thinking about sticking it to plexiglass before dropping it off to be framed, it’s not often you see pictures of these opened up so I thought I’d share... How did you open it please? Knife, scissors? Is it opened as in cannot be put back as it was? I am expecting mine soon, and it seems such a shame not to have on the wall

eric are you removing the film over the tiles or not? I’ll have my framer pull the film off once I decide how to frame it and what to mount it on...so far plexiglass unless he or anyone else has a different suggestion. |

I would actually use a razor blade and avoid cutting the package in it's entirety |

I was just wondering why you want to frame it after it has been stuck to the plexiglass? I've stuck mine to plexiglass and just hung it. The tiles are tough enough to not need any protection.
Before sticking my IK to the plexiglass I drilled the plexi and attached eyelets so I could add a string and hang it like a normal picture. The plexi I stuck the IK too, is about black and about 1cm thick.
If a tile should fall off, I'll just glue it back!

Presentation, to someone like me would be first and foremost. It's probably an aesthetic thing to most people like myself who want the frame to draw attention to the piece and compliment it as a whole. I don't think I would ever just want to stick it on a piece of plexi. Plus, additional protection is never a bad idea.

I've never regretted taking mine out and I wish more people would do so, as they look so much better out than in.

INVADER first solo show in Los Angeles since 2005, by Eric on Jan 9, 2019 7:09:02 GMT 1, Cut a sheet of clear polycarbonate (plexiglass...kind of) and stuck it to the back which is absolutely necessary or else it becomes very floppy once you pull that front film off! It should be ready to pickup from my framer in a few more days.

Mostly for aesthetic reasons but also feel a frame would protect it better from dust, sunlight, my kids, etc.. |

Did you stick it with something reversible? I've seen people frame these with no glue. Just held in place by the glass and frame.
