DFace โข Turn Coat Print, by Deleted on Nov 30, 2018 21:17:30 GMT 1, errr, no
whilst readily admit i'm i'm new-ish to the game, there appears to be a pattern emerging to the more popular releases as far as I can see...
FOMO means flippers try and capitalise on short supply, and tend to go early/ overboard on secondary sites
saw this with invader- prints being pushed at 20k on eBay with a short cycle to try and corner a small market, but quickly settles down- free market economy at its most transparent
Turncoat is a very nice print, but my gut tells me in Jan you'll pick it up for 600 quid- some of his much earlier prints are readily available for the same price point, just need to be patient.
man, I must be getting old, I sound like my dad....

You didn't factor in this being one of his best images and half the edition size of previous releases. I doubt your gut is right on this one but time will tell.

It is a great image, but if you think it will be garnishing 3k+ you're incorrect.

Having looked at a pic of the image again, the proportions seem a bit off- either that or the lovely lady has some seriously big hair... still would love to have one

DFace โข Turn Coat Print, by galaxy01 on Nov 30, 2018 22:23:43 GMT 1, The ones on bay were listed before today, one sold for 849 today in the uk was listed on ebay a week ago. All of those are just pre orders for stupid money.
Ignore the bay until people have them in hands and the flippers are all listed, the more flippers the lower they will drive their own prices to get the quick sale.
As someone above said, wait til new year and we will have a secondary market price, I suspect the 750 mark like No Joke

DFace โข Turn Coat Print, by Express Post on Nov 30, 2018 23:10:27 GMT 1, Don't over analyse Dface's market. He was selling prints ten years ago for 400 squids, and doing the same again in 2018. Ten years in the game and you don't see his originals in collections sitting next to original Kusamas, Bradfords, Condos, Yuskavages, Dumases, and Ofilis. He is one artist who is lucky enough for nobodies to buy at cost to flip for beer and theatre money. People that pay the secondary flipper price are gonna have a bad time.

DFace โข Turn Coat Print, by dunit88 on Dec 1, 2018 1:30:23 GMT 1, This queue system sucks. I checked 2 hours before and i was in no Queue. My guess is that I started 1 hour before the time frame. Its impossible to buy any prints anymore unless you know how to beat the system. Only time I manage to buy anyones print is if they randomly send emails or post on IG without any warning and you just have to follow them closely. Other than that, It sucks to pay a premium. But then again, in any given markets, its really how bad do you want it and what your willing to pay!!!!!!!

Yea I don't think you buy DFace's work for investment purposes. You will lose. But I do like some of the images. I'd love a "Going Nowhere Fast" but the price for those are in the thousands. 10 years from now it likely won't go up if a all. Which is fine, since I like the image. But then is it worth the price in the first place?
The flip game is just a husstle. With this global economy people are able to make a quick buck. Shoes, designer clothes, houses, etc. Flippers are out in full force and completely inflating prices and really messing up markets (especially where real estate is concerned). So this is normal.
Just make sure you get out before the bubble pops and you're stuck with a declining "asset"

Just make sure you get out before the bubble pops and you're stuck with a declining "asset" This is people keep saying this, but those who bought this to resell have already done or doing so right now. Most have sold for double so they are making a quick buck.

I've got both, still boxed in the loft.. City riot bowler and the Stockton Trilby.. ๐

Even here, plenty of people are sitting on prints with the hopes that the value will soar. Those people will be in trouble when/if the bubble pops. Just like real estate. Some people get burned while some do not.
The quick flippers are OK for now. As someone who was big into the sneaker game and left once flippers got involved, I have lived this market as well. I will buy the odd print, but no more collecting or spending big money on anything.
