Pejac - Love Letter, by Yabadabdo on Feb 5, 2019 20:35:08 GMT 1, Sorry but this was never sold as just the letter, don't you remember the long film of the hand stamped, lovingly crafted packaging and box?. As much as I love the letter itself I would not have paid that much just for the letter sent in bubble wrap and 2 cardboard boxes(timed release), I don't believe that many people would have. Having said that, the box was initially packaging, so if it incurs a little rubbing etc I won't mind but if it is trashed I will be disappointed. I like the birds on the box, it reminds me a little of Scattercrow so I hope it turns up in good nick. As you can tell I have not received mine yet.

Indeed. And if you give a picture you can have it done with your own image. Quite terrifying ๐

Pejac - Love Letter, by alinoe on Feb 6, 2019 10:14:14 GMT 1, I received mine yesterday, and I think think it's quite cool. Not only the piece, but as an experience. The crate was sealed with a sticker and a screw. Almost like a little bit of drama when opening.
However, I must admit that the piece itself baffles me in some ways. How to display it. What do do with the lid. Or for that matter the crate itself, if it's to be framed seperately. How to take advantage of the reversibility.
I like it. But I'm not sure I get it.

Pejac - Love Letter, by Graham H on Feb 6, 2019 10:26:28 GMT 1, My thought was always that wouldnt it have been so much more of a personal and great piece if the artist had written each buyers name on the envelope.. it would have made it more personal ( and could have been a bit of a shock for people hoping to flip it )..
It would have made each one a one off also

Pejac - Love Letter, by aaronnoraa85 on Feb 6, 2019 12:02:14 GMT 1, I purchased two Pejacs love letters to display side by side (to showcase both sides of the envelope). However, due to a house move, I now need the extra funds and will be selling one. Genuinely, not purchased to sale - hence the price.
This is as close to โcostโ price as I can.
1 x Pejac love letter for ยฃ700
UK delivery only - buyer to pay. Or collection in person (South West UK)
Thanks

Or for that matter the crate itself, if it's to be framed seperately. How to take advantage of the reversibility. I've also been thinking about but the only idea I've been to able to get is: 1) to place the lid in the bottom of the box 2) with the side with the birds up, as background for the envelope 3) to use the grooves where the lid was, for a glass or acrylic slide
Pros: - You keep the box and the letter together - You can show/see both at the same time - You can open the 'frame' easily and turn the letter Cons: - You must trim about 8mm of the lid, 'destroying' the packaging of the piece
Feedback?

Pejac - Love Letter, by GMA on Feb 6, 2019 14:21:44 GMT 1, I've been thinking about it myself, I'm probably repeating myself but isn't there a way to have a custom frame on a hinge? So you open it up, flip the envelope when you want, and close it again?
I'd prefer to have everything displayed if possible, but I'm not sure if its even feasible. Maybe a deep box with a mirror backing would help. It's a puzzle I look forward to seeing peoples solutions.

I think you'll be unpleasantly surprised when 95% of these never see walls and are only opened for a picture to list for sale.. sad state of the market right now
I'd build a 2 sided frame where I could flip on hinge, and have something else in the "empty" space on each side

It's an unusual piece and no doubt people will be like "Dude, what's with the envelope on the wall" "Ahhh my good friend, this is blah blah blah blah". Mine just got delivered to where I'm currently working, FL are exceptional in my opinion. I dropped them a call this morning to let them know and they got it rerouted here.
But yeah, I want to be able to show both sides, ideally without the use of the magnets. I did ask Mr Frameman back around Christmas time so will approach them again after I've seen it to see what is possible. I expect the frame job to be fairly expensive. One other option was to display it in glass, floated... but I don't fancy this being on the fireplace, it needs to be on a wall.
1st world problems eh?

Pejac - Love Letter, by cogitobcn on Feb 6, 2019 15:26:35 GMT 1, I've been thinking about it myself, I'm probably repeating myself but isn't there a way to have a custom frame on a hinge? So you open it up, flip the envelope when you want, and close it again? Yes, sure this is possible, but this means to throw the stencilled box? or just to display it separated?

Pejac - Love Letter, by d.r. perseus on Feb 6, 2019 15:28:48 GMT 1, Can anyone confirm if the stencil birds are in the inside or outside of the lid? I've received the box in a perfect state but, without breaking the seal, I see no birds anywhere... Why not open and see?
I think you know why
