Prices and Values, Buying and Selling Art, by Daniel Silk on Jan 8, 2019 13:52:03 GMT 1, I think most people have some sort of limits in how much they can justify paying for a piece of art, for some it might be a maximum of £100 while others are happy to spend thousands, and I wonder if the values and Selling works in a similar way? Do people see the values of art in their collections rise and it gets to the stage that they can’t justify keeping them, in the way that they might have one piece of art that’s value has become the equivalent of months and months of their family income. I wonder how this situation effects the market and the artists? Meaning the original fans of an artists work slowly sell up, leaving the art in the hands of a totally different type of collector or investors. What do you think?

Prices and Values, Buying and Selling Art, by tab1 on Jan 8, 2019 23:30:00 GMT 1, 2010-11 I was buying lots of prints £100-200 the same artists each year rose in value and now at their price point now I no longer collect , which is good as many an impulsive buy and really no need to purchase so many. I still have them as would not buy at the prices now
with values gaining for many artists it is normal for a print to be released at £500-£1000 at source many that have been around for a while that will seem expensive but a lot of new members here and have not seen the progression so are accustomed to these new highs ,
