I spoke with them Monday, they told me they were not sure if they were restocking and refunded me. Ive been told a few places will be stocking these again soon. I think youll have plenty of opportunity to buy these. sorry to here about the theft tho, but silly to leave 500 bucks on your porch?

also, did moma stick their own price tag sticker on the top of the bff box?  already a sticker on the bottom, why not apply it there...

Not a smart move at all, I have a lot of traffic walking by my place. Fedex will usually never leave a package, but these were shipped out without needing signature confirmation. I actually found the MOMA box they came in down the block when out walking my dog. The worst part was this order had a plush in it, doubt I will be able to replace that.
Facebook neighborhood association groups are actuality good for asking people to be on the look out for stolen packages.

They were all in one box. I placed the order before I knew about the discount. Theres a sticker on the bottom but it has no barcode thats probably the reason MOMA had to put there own barcode.

I get that they may need to supply their own label, but why deface an additional side of the box, when it could have been placed more inconspicuously on the bottom aside the other label already affixed. I'd want to remove that sticker on the lid and it would irk me if it tore off some of the box's surface or left behind adhesive or discoloration. |

Kaws said the reason he created the open edition was that he was tired of seeing the bootleggers making fakes and people paying so much money for his figures. He said that's never what he intended when he created them. So he wanted to make something accessible by everyone. Something you could open and display on your shelf and not worry if your kid threw it across the room. 
He also said he will be making more toys.
It was a great lecture and a great guy.

Ofcourse he'll make more, I recon these toys have already generated +2bucks for the poor man. he's doesn't want to see fakes and flips and he doesn't want people profiting from his artwork. It's an open edition he'll make as many as is needed and then more. I think They're cool but don't understand the hype personally

Ha! Making something accessible for everyone! I think Mr Kaws might have lost touch that $200 is still a decent wedge for most normal people. I'd imagine these are produced and shipped from Asia for under $10.

I guess it depends on how limited these things will be. I as a regular joe still can't find one unless I camp out on the internet. I still see these things going for almost double on ebay so while they may not be making a killing, they're still getting money. I'd say doubling your money is a good return. i do agree that he could have priced them a bit lower with it being an open edition. it seems odd that he didn't clarify right off the bat that it was an open edition to dissuade flippers and to assure potential buyers that there would be additional supply to purchase direct (vs secondary market). he drummed up a lot of hype by keeping it somewhat vague.

They're called the "Kaws Companion Open Edition". Could he be clearer than that? It's even written on them.
