Glastonbury Festival, by thegreatarchitect on Jun 29, 2009 11:20:07 GMT 1, I thought the parklife era stuff sounded bad... after that they kicked into their stride though. Beetlebum & Tender sounded excellent. As always though you get a different view watching on tv to if you're there. The BBC presenters are f**king annoying with their hyperbole for every single thing on stage. that one presenter sounds like frank sidebottom
Last i heard old frank was giving talks at the TATE (Britain)

Yep. But to be fair, when did he ever look REALY into it? He could have change his T-shirt though!.....he was wearing the same one at Ali Pally in '94. Only watched it on the box, but thought they done a decent job....and 'The Universal' was (as ever) particularly pretty.

Just as with comments about Damons singing... When did Graham (or Alex, before someone mentions him looking bored) ever look excited to be playing live?
Sorry Jay, you beat me to it!

Actually I quite liked that he was wearing the same t-shirt....glad to see Damon & Dave haven't moved away from their Fred Perry polo fascination as well!

Judging by the amount of artists wearing Fred Perrys over the weekend (Blur, Specials, Prodigy, etc...) I'm pretty sure the bods at F.P. would have targeted certain bands in advance and sent out a load of freebies....looks like Dave requires the XL size these days though...

Glastonbury Festival, by walters on Jun 30, 2009 8:29:28 GMT 1, why do people think the slogans sprayed around the site are banksy??? or are people just guesing?
if banksy did have a hand in this years fest,i think it far more likely he had some input in arcadia/shangri la,which was like nothing i've ever seen before.it was a stroke of genius.
btw,glasto was f**king awesome.

Glastonbury Festival, by doublehelix on Jun 30, 2009 9:36:47 GMT 1, why do people think the slogans sprayed around the site are banksy???
From the official Glastonbury festival website before the site opened to the public:
"NEWSFLASH: Banksy bits have begun to appear around the site."
That might have something to do with it. Also the handwriting, and the slogans.

the big stage as you just entered was mesmerising.the old fashioned gas lamps shooting flames into the air,to the counds of banging D&B. i still cant get over it. ;D

FWIW I thought they were bloody good, looking forward to catching them at Hyde Park, a large scale reunion moment sadly usurped by Micheal Eavis and his evil pyramid of money .

I saw Oasis again a couple of years ago ( after first seeing them in 1994 at the Dutchess in Leeds before Supersonic came out)
They were a sad caricature of their former selves and enjoyed by beer swilling, piss throwing, terrace fasion wearing, fighting, larger louts I shan't be going to see Oasis ever again.

I went to Cardiff couple of weeks ago, it was exactly as you discribed, i left after 6 tunes, cus I was hungry and couldnt be bothered. I went to see Noel gallagher do an acoustic set at the royal albert, and that was a blinding gig. So from now on its Acoustics and Studio Albums. And for the record I loved Blur and Oasis, totally different bands and music styles,it was just a load of hype to sell and promote
