Pejac - Yin-Yang, by Hairbland on Jun 27, 2019 10:46:54 GMT 1, Good luck to those going for one. Wonโt be easy. I think they look great. Pejac set a high bar early on in his career of which draws criticism with each release, thatโs a good thing. Repetitive message or not itโs obviously an important topic to the artist and itโs nice to seen him push forward with it. Just as many other artists do with their agenda. I for one havenโt gotten tired of the images he produces, keep em coming. And whatโs with the cartoon comparisons as of late, a bit odd. I donโt think the cartoon comparisons odd, if anything they show his lack of inspiration.

seems like people are trying hard to find things to dislike about this one. those people probably shouldn't try to buy it

Pejac - Yin-Yang, by Riotcops on Jun 27, 2019 21:54:36 GMT 1, Avant Arte is now saying their "10 diptych editions" really means "10 of the black print from the diptych only", so they are apparently only selling one half of the diptych while still referring to it as a "diptych edition" in the product description on their site, which... makes no sense at all. At least that's what they are telling people at the moment. Christian Avant Arte care to explain? Where does it say that? I don't see it. They do show both black and white on the site, though only the black with the STM inscription.

Pejac - Yin-Yang, by londonfx on Jun 28, 2019 7:23:25 GMT 1, Inuit vs. Eskimo You will notice that I use the term Eskimo in this blog. No, itโs not because Iโm an insensitive jerk who prefers to use derogatory terms for people. It is because in Alaska, where I grew up and where the languages that fascinate me reside, Inuit is not preferred over Eskimo. In Canada, the term Inuit is preferred over Eskimo, which is considered offensive. What many people do not know is that using the term Inuit as a blanket term for all arctic people in Alaska is offensive โ the opposite of the situation in Canada. Why? Because there are two main groups of arctic people in Alaska, the Yupik and the Iรฑupiat. The Yupik peoples are Eskimo but not Inuit. Quite understandably, they donโt like being called Inuit because they arenโt Inuit (and the word doesnโt even exist in Yupik languages). This means that itโs better to call arctic Alaskans Eskimos, not Inuit โ or better yet, call them Yupik if they are Yupik, Iรฑupiat if they are Iรฑupiat, Cupโik if they are Cupโik, and so on. So, to sum it up: Canada: Inuit United States (i.e., Alaska): Eskimo, which includes Yupik and Inuit peoples Greenland: Kalaallit (Inuit may be acceptable as well, but I simply donโt know) Russia: Eskimo (albeit in Russian, ะญัะบะธะผะพ). Mostly Yupik peoples, with the exception of Inuit on Big Diomede. Sirenikski may be separate from both Yupik and Inuit. TULUGAQ ALASKAN LANGUAGES AND LINGUISTICS by Linda Lanz, Ph.D. in linguistics I was born and raised in Alaska, and this led to my current fascination with Alaska Native languages.
Thanks for the clarification dappy

Pejac - Yin-Yang, by tab1 on Jun 28, 2019 14:50:57 GMT 1, Edition of 30 would be better suited at these quoted price points , way too large an edition for the high price .. Open edition print has not done well for his market and this Will play the same , slowing interest in the artist . Print market in recent times has become absurd with most artists , quick easy way to gain profit with most , although original Work is good

1) Price is consistent with all of Pejac's other releases (people seem to forget this is two large prints). 2) Edition size is fairly consistent with his other online print releases (with the exception of an open edition envelope & a media sculpture of course).
Pursuant to above statements, his editions (parallel to this one) have such proven success that it honestly makes me wonder what prompted your idea of a potential simmer of interest in his work.
Now, I can absolutely get on board with your argument about the print market in general - as hiking prices seem to be an unfortunate (for us) recent trend, however I think the price is right on this example.
Good luck to anyone going for one and please remember....

One on here for less than cost really makes me think his market inflated quite quickly and is now settling back down. I think the prices are reasonable, sizes are great, but the image on this one really doesn't have me excited like i've been with Forest and even Scattercrow. I'm not sure this one will be a huge bun fight and from a personal point of view, I'd rather pay close to this for another single stronger print.

Pejac - Yin-Yang, by jbelleit on Jun 28, 2019 16:52:32 GMT 1, Not in any way critiquing or bashing the way Pejac and Max do their business, but it would have been nice to release this print with the show that is planned (?) for NYC. We all know we are fans here on UAA and that this will most likely hit the hypebeast websites prior to release. But I am curious what gallery owners think. I mentioned Pejac a while back when I was at a modern gallery here in Charlotte and of course they had no idea who he was and were really not interested in his work.
Again, I love Pejac's work (though probably can't afford this diptych)...I think he has a great future. Just not sure it will be recognized by anyone other than UAA members in the future...

I think the prices are reasonable, sizes are great, but the image on this one really doesn't have me excited like i've been with Forest and even Scattercrow. I'm not sure this one will be a huge bun fight and from a personal point of view, I'd rather pay close to this for another single stronger print. OE was edition of 470- not so small but small in comparison to James Jean, etc. Either way, comparing the OE to Yin-Yang is comparing apples to oranges - as one is an envelope and the other happens to be 2 massive prints that require 6' of wall space.
I think this thread diluted the image a bit with people throwing cartoons around, however I doubt my guests will be referencing a cartoon if I have the chance to purchase one.
Additionally, let us not forget how many urban artists became uber successful off of cartoons
Good luck people
Ok, this one I'll entertain. Dont hate the player, hate the game. <3 I see Pejac's market declining, the OE is interesting as the edition is still relatively small at 300ish (If i remember correctly) and it came with a HF crate. One on here for less than cost really makes me think his market inflated quite quickly and is now settling back down.
